Took the black car out to the local cruise night this evening for the first time this season. Pulled away from a traffic light at a respectable rate of speed and got the tank moving then nailed the gas. With only a K&N and a Lidio tune the MM sat back on its haunches and just pulled like freight train right up till it was time to let off. I know compared to a 2015 Honda my car is slow, but the sensation of being pushed back into the seat( that I don't get in my more powerful vehicle) put a rare smile on my p.uss. Happy to be Maraudering again.

Fun ain't it. I did a blast to 120 on a country road today on the way back from my gunsmith.

I still haven't matted it , since the rebuild.
First time I had it to 80 this weekend ,on the interstate, it already had 1200 miles since I got it back
glad to know you're representing! :banana2:

Of course not !!! The 5.6L in the 2008 Nissan Titan produces only 317 HP @ 5200 RPM and the SE King Cab Long Bed weighs in with a curb weight of 5,294 pounds. The Titan has 5% more HP than a stock MM but is pushing 27% more weight. It is all about Physics. With the tune, your Marauder is probably about 4% more HP than the stock Titan. Not surprising at all considering the weight to power ratio.

Nissan Titan = 16.7 pounds per Horsepower
Mercury Marauder = 13.8 pounds per horsepower (with tune closer to 12.6 lbs/HP). Marauder FTW !!!

2015 Honda Accord 3.5L (3559 pounds/278 HP) = 12.8 lbs/HP (with a tune this oughta be close -- just don't race skinny little girls)
2015 Honda Civic Si 2.4L (3002 pounds/205 HP) = 14.6 lbs/HP (should be an easy walk on this one)

See you had a little extra coffee time this morning Charlie. ;)
Nissan is sandbagging about their HP numbers as members are getting Dyno numbers on stock trucks that put the real hp numbers in the 340 range, but I get your point. I'm told if I get a tune for the truck it should do similar things that the tune for the Marauder did. Just been a while since I drove anything that just pulled so hard for so long w/o wanting to shift into OD at 30mph. Hey to the Bernster:)

You will need 402 HP in the Titan to offset the weight advantage of the Marauder to get the same "feel".

Tried the freight pull with the T today from about 15mph. Roads were wet and the tires just roasted. Once it caught it pulled hard, just not the same feeling as the Marauder though. The T is quick though for its weight. Wonder how it would do against the Marauder at the track? Traction would be the big advantage for the Marauder as the T is light in the rear and running AT's.

I estimate the Nissan Titan at about 16.2 seconds, stock Marauder about 15.3 seconds, and MM with tune at 14.6-14.7 seconds.

Let's not forget to calculate trans and rear gearing. Trans alone would probably be an advantage in the T.
