If any of you have purchased the Superchips Flash tuner and are able to load up programs into your cars computer, I would like to know how you like it? Ease of use? Do you have the computer cable as well so you can get up-dated programs e-mailed to you?

Also, are any of you currently using a program with the TQ converter lock-up disabled until the car is in 4th gear or around 65 mph? If so do you like it and how has the performance of the car changed?

I have both the SCT Tuner and the serial cable to wire it to my laptop. Dennis has e-mailed me a corrected file and it works great.

You'll need to purchase the cable separately... it comes with the serial cable and an AC adapter to power the tuner. If your computer doesn't have a serial port (alot of new ones don't), then you'll also need a USB-to-Serial adapter. SCT strongly recommends using the IO Gear model GUC232. When you get the cable, call Dennis and have him e-mail you the program that enables you to swap files in and out of the tuner. There's supposed to be a link on the SCT website, but I haven't been able to find it.

Is this a regular serial cable? or is it a specially designed one.
Also, is there a special program to interface the sct to you pc?
Im interested in getting the cable, but i heard its a ton o money, if its just an ac adapter that runs 12v's and a serial cable, i can hook this up to my pc!!
Thanks,
Frank

It's a tuner-specific serial cable. There is a "little black box" in-line with it. The power source pugs into the box, which (I would guess) sends the correct power to the tuner through the one end of the cable.

As for the "interface program", I already covered that:

If so do you like it and how has the performance of the car changed? You can change the tuning on your car in five (5) minutes or less with the SCT 9100 tuner. I can now tune my car for max performance race conditions based on two (2) things: 1) Chris Johnson, of Superchips Custom Tuning fame, tuned my car (go to www.jmschip.com (http://www.jmschip.com/)), 2) AMS Racing in Bossier City, Louisiana(www.amsracing.com (http://www.amsracing.com)) built my 302 CI stroker motor to handle up to 1000 hp. Now, I run the N/A program on the street, and I have three other programs to run the various nitrous scenarios I need at the track: 100NOS, 200NOS, and 300NOS. I haven't shot 300 hp yet on the nitrous (got a couple of fuel issues to deal with first), but the times are telling: N/A 13.093; 100hp shot 12.54; 200hp shot 11.72. I may break either the motor or 11.00 with a 300 hp shot. I'm betting on the time. The 100 hp shot registered 449 hp @ 6300 and 549 ft/lbs @2800 rpm! The most important thing was that the Stallion 3000 is now tuned to shift when it's supposed to, and not before (before I had Chris' tuning change, the converter would lock almost any damn time it pleased). Now that's under control. My only remaining issue is wheels and tires, since I've upgraded the axle and bearings. At some point, I will stop spending money on this car.:banana2:
