Hey guys,
I was looking to swap over to nonethanol gas. I just haven't found a gas station that sells premium gas in the area, but I did find one that sells 90 octane nonethanol. Could I use this as a full tank or half and half? I'm on the fence about it. Any suggestions?

I have NEVER had any issues with ethanol gas. Keep water away from it and it is fine.

I run BP Amoco 93 in my car with no issues. I put one tank of ethanol free 91 from HyVee and it pinged like a beeeyotch. F that noise. BP 93 for me.

That's exactly the same as saying: "I've drank hundreds of gallons of water laced with flouride and chlorine and never had a problem."

Owners manual says "Minimum 91 Octane".

All we've had available around here is ethanol blend for decades. Not a single issue. Ever.

I'm sure I'm being overly cautious, but I only run 92 or 93 octane in my car. When I have to settle for 91, I only put in enough to get me a day or so until I can fill with higher.

Here in MN, I've never seen less than 91 octane being sold as premium. However, many smaller stations only carry 87 and 89. Luckily those are usually outside the Twin Cities.

Unfortunately, Minnesota has a major hard-on for (heavily subsidized) ethanol, and the state mandates all gasoline be a minimum of 10% ethanol. However, there's an exemption for "premium fuels". I only know of a handful of stations that specifically say "ethanol free" on their premium product.
