First wax on Maaco paint

I'm very satisfied.

Do the prep yourself and it can look really great for a small amount of money.

The paint was $538 total cost.

Did You wet sand n buff it b4 the wax?

Macco can sometimes do a good job. I used them for my 88 Crown Vic a number of years back. The only problem I had with them was the overspray and a few minor things. Just washed and waxed the Crown Vic a few weeks ago and it looks good.

My brother on the other hand did his grand marquis at Macco. He rarely even washed it so now it doesn't look so good.

They painted My GM a few yrs ago, had some extra body work done it came out to $1k. Insurance paid.

No. They told me not to buff this paint job. They had an option to do it right for about four times the money, but you get what you pay for... and you can work off the rest yourself or with a crew of buddies.


Was this car wet sanded because if not, they did one heck of a job.

They told me they removed the clear coat before painting.

I gotta tell ya, a looooong time ago Maaco painted my mom's '88 Cougar LS. Me and dad took EVERYTHING off. Handles, keyholes, badges, lights.... They laid a scuff-n-shoot paint job so thin you could see every D/A mark. It lasted 6 months.... From there forward I've never considered them a viable company. I have a buddy that owns a shop locally here and BOTH times he fixed my Merc, with me doing ALL the R&R, it's been impeccable. Yours looks damn good and I admit, I am impressed.

That's beautiful. I love a white car. Wish they made a white Marauder. I like the combo of the MGM chrome trim down the sides and the Marauder wheels too.

Looks really nice! They did an excellent job on mine too! It just depends on which Maaco you take it to. The people you deal with and the painter makes a huge difference from Maaco to Maaco.

School was long ago, but i recall that white was the presence of color, actually all the colors, e.g. white light thru a prism. Black is the absence of color, so wouldn't black 'not' be a color? If so, logic goes, nothing weighs less than something. Therefore, that's why black cars always beat DTRs. QED

Correct, Black is the absence of color, only one true black. White however have a million different shades
