Working on a cars suspension without getting your hands dirty?
When can I bring my MM by for a detail lesson?
Good work men. My fronts will need replacing how is a 750 spring rate on the city streets, not too firm? Any idea what the factory spring rate was. I'm looking to get this done soon. I've lost a shock with just over 50 thousand miles.

Marauders are 330 lb progressive springs, coilovers are constant rate. Chris went 750 due to weight of iron block, whipple, etc. I'm going with their standard 650 lb. Motown just put them on the coyote marauder

I've touched it..lol..when Chris wasn't around at mo's during the trans issues before the 480le. I'm ordering the ridetechs prolly after holiday . Spring rates are priced same. 650 lb is standard, get more if you have extra weight up front. Spring are $75 each if you want 2 different ratings

I also got the lower ball joints from Napa.
Oreilly's I ordered Moog inner and outer Tie rods and Moog sway bar end links for the Marauder.
Mr. Man
05-28-2016, 07:04 PM
I believe the MM came with a mostly P-71 suspension up front. Is that a correct assumption?
Are the new ball joints, tie rods, and end links heavier duty than Fords? I believe I have read that the Moog end links are beefier than what Addco supplies.

That kit is top notch all day , Moog components used throughout , Moog also makes Napas forged control arms , honestly the 750lb springs should be standard , they adjust faster , and you cannot tell any difference from the 650lb springs to the 750lb springs, it gives a very firm, but comfortable ride.

It sure is easier to turn a threaded adjuster than guess how far a spring will sag. Not to mention the ability to install enough damping for good ride and handling.

Nobody pays. Truckers, fast food cooks, gas station clerks - everyone wants a handout job :shake:

Were the ball joints etc all basic Marauder parts or did you order special heavy duty or extra length or what ever term you use for the replacement parts. Looking to start collecting parts for a rebuild. Probably just do KYB's and stock springs as the old ones have settled to a good stance.
