Hey all

So, I got the Garage Queen ready for Carlisle.

Took her out on Saturday for a bit.

No problems.

I start her up this morning and hear this:

What do you think?

Have you checked your fuild levels on the Trilogy? Whipple has a view window for quick inspection, but the Magnuson supercharger doesn't.

Check the bypass valve on the passenger side of the blower. Make sure it is opening at idle. It will be closed with engine off so you can get a reference where it should be with engine running (opposite of engine off).

If it isnt opening then you have a vacuum problem to the valve or maybe the diaphram went bad in the valve. You could manually move it qhile engine running to see if sound changes.

Remove the blower belt to make sure it's the blower.

The MP112 on my CTS-V did the same thing, bypassed the blower to drive it until I can get it sent off to Jon Bond.

Definitely check this stuff. Probably just a vacuum line or a crack in the BPV.

I had a similar noise problem, not as severe. I highly recommend these guys above. The factory Ford techs said my blower bearing was on the way out without measuring them in any way, but when I sent the blower in ,Steigy gave me the actual specs of of everything and said it was fine. They said there's nothing we can fix and asked to send it back, my only charge being shipping.

Seeing as they were so honest and thorough, and had them do a mild port and a full polish job. Then I showed it to the Ford techs at the stealership. They just shrugged.

Steigy is very reputable, has a big body of work on many SVT boards for Cobras, Lightnings etc.

This is what I was thinking. When I removed the vacuum line off my bypass at idle, my blower starts making the same noise.

I remember getting a new
diaphragm for the Trilogy, the nipple broke off and I tried to repair it by glueing it back but I was still passing gas.

I checked the vacuum hoses and all looked good.

The bypass valve position changed when I started the engine.

I disconnected the hose from the bypass valve and the noise started.

Reconnected and there was no noise.

Must have just been a loose connection. I reseated all hoses and ALL QUIET!!![emoji482] [emoji482] [emoji482] [emoji106] [emoji106]

S/C oil is good, merc!

Thanks again to all - What a relief!!

You can buy a rebuild kit for the nose cone on ebay for 75 bux. I had to do that on my car.
