Carlisle 2016 Picture thread.

I didn't take any, but thought I'd start a thread for those who did and would like to post theirs up.

Hello to all,

I had mechanical problems when I arrived on Thursday. Mr. Man & Mrs. Denmark stepped up and chauffeured me through Friday night when I got my Marauder back from the Ford Dealer. I owe them a special thanks.

Bluerauder will post the stats for the event I suspect as he knew all the numbers before we left the show. He does a lot to promote interest in this annual event and supply information to new Marauder owners. He too deserves thanks for his great contribution to our group.

The two greatest parts of the annual show is to see so many Marauders at one event and... the good folks in our group. I noticed that our members share helpful car information freely to each other and they are so supportive if anyone in the group needs any help.

Silly me left my camera in the hotel on Saturday. However, I did get some pics of the Flag Display, Building Displays and Fairgrounds on Friday and Sunday. As you can tell, the sky was quite grey for most of this weekend. Here's a sample of my pics. My son George got some great pics on Saturday, so I will try to steal his memory cards and download them to my computer.

Thanks Jim !! Glad you were able to get your MM fixed quickly. I am impressed with the turnaround to get you back on the road for Saturday's events.



Here are the numbers from my count .....



Had a great time at the 2016 Carlisle All Ford Nationals this weekend. Was glad to see and meet so many First Timers make the trip ... especially distance travelers like 03mmmonroe (NC), BUCKWHEAT (MO), Mike Brown (IN) and PRCARGUY (NJ). Carlisle Events set a new Ford attendance record for the "Largest and most Thrilling All-Ford Event in the World" with over 3,000 cars/trucks registered as of about 11:00 AM on Saturday with cars still streaming in the Gate #3 entrance. Final count was 3,200 vehicles. Carlisle says over 50,000 participants and visitors over the 3 day event.



Another big show of support by the MM.Net members. Mercury Marauders attendance on the Mountain as of 2:30 PM Saturday was 38 MMs (17 Black, 11 Silver, 4 DTR, and 6 Blue). Another fine showing and representation at Carlisle by the MM.Net members.

Aerial View of the 2016 Carlisle All Ford Nationals. This is primarily the Red (in the foreground) and Green Showfields (in the middle). The Blue Showfield is way toward the back of this photo. Unfortunately, they didn't get a pic of the Yellow Showfield where the Marauders and non-Mustangs were located and was about as large as Red & Green in this photo. We were just off the left edge directly in front of the Grandstand and cluster of large Midway tents.

Again Carlisle ignores Lincoln, Mercury and what ever else isn't primarily a Mustang. How hard would it have been to take a photo from that parking area vantage point. They actually went ahead and posted a photo of the parking area instead of the rest of the showfield.:shake:

Pretty sure that the Blue MM with the moonroof belongs to JoanB. Her husband GordonB had a DTR.

There were helicopters flying all over the field on Saturday and several drones. Any of those flights could have taken a better, more inclusive picture of the cars on display.

Again, they ignore a portion of the show field. Didn't we all pay the same in show fees? I don't recall getting the "you not in the picture" discount!

When I register for next June, you can expect me to express my feelings to the planners at Carlisle Events.

I am sure that they took tons of aerial pics on Saturday. The helicopter circled the Showfields for 30 minutes. I just can't find any of the others. Only one was posted.

But she did have about 100 members from the Vicious Venomous Stangz Club as her personal cheering section all wearing club T-Shirts in Electric Green. The judges apparently couldn't ignore their cheers. I felt rooked.

1. YIMMA is shown in the background of a couple of the shots at the Starsky & Hutch autograph session wearing his straw hat.

2. During the downtown Parade, the photograph caught the driver's rear quarter panel on a Black MM as it was turning the corner. It was the "Shermanator" because no gas filler door is visible.

3. Pics of "merc" and "Shermanator" just before the turn on to High Street in two shots just before the one above.

4. Not sure if that is a shot of Ladyhawke's GT-4S Kenny Brown Mustang running next to 05crownsport's Silver Birch car in the parade.

5. The photographer caught a Black MM sitting at the bottom of Marauder Mountain in one of the shots. Looks like they never made it to the top of the Hill to view the MMs on site there. Lazy Bastards !!!

Some amazing pictures there and such a massive turnout, I hope I can make it over there one day to attend at least one of your great events you've got going on.

Also nice to see the Euro-Marauderville shirts were represented as well.

Good eye !! I'll have to go back and look a little closer. Sure enough, I missed both of those pics of you and the Shermanator. Just after those pics is a photo of the back end of Sherm's car making the turn on to High Street. No gas filler flap is visible on the rear quarter panel .... a dead giveaway on Sherm.
