Hi Guys

A couple times since getting my Marauder out of winter storage I've felt the starter sounded a little a sluggish so decided to test the battery, seems the eight plus year old Die Hard battery is nearing the end of its life.

It is a group 65 battery rated at 700cca and my Bosch battery BAT131 tester puts it at 410cca (63% rated capacity), 12.34v just on the replacement threshold.

Shame you can't buy Die Hard batteries here I would have another in a heartbeat.

European batteries have a different sizing, numbering system and 95% with the terminals backwards so after a little research I manged to find a couple group 65 batteries here, one was an Odyssey and massively expensive at $420, the other was a Caterpillar battery at $274

This morning I took short trip north to pick up my new CAT battery from Finnings (http://www.finning.co.uk/) the U.K Caterpillar (http://www.caterpillar.com/) agents at Royal Portbury Docks (https://www.bristolport.co.uk/) http://www.lincolnsonline.com/forum/images/smilies/cheer.gif

Genuine made in the USA battery rated at 850cca

Comes in handy if your bucket loader doesn't start :). That is very interesting!

Add a second and make it 24V. Think of the brighter headlights![emoji4]

Good choice on a battery. It works well.

44031 I like CAT. You get a free ball cap when you buy a new 982M wheel loader.
