I'll try to describe this the best I can. Here goes... Sometimes when I start my car for the 1st time for the day, it will idle slightly higher than normal. Maybe around 1100 rpm and hang there. I've even noticed this a few times after I've been driving a while and it's up to normal operating temperature.
Also when this happens it seems to hold gears longer before shifting, then shifts a little more firmer than normal. Doesn't do this all the time, just every now and then. I could stop and restart the car and it's back to normal. No CEL lights, no nothing. Any idea of what could cause this? Thanks in advance...

Almost sounds like a flat spot on the TPS sensor. Easy to test with a multi meter but shutting it off wouldn't help any.

Not every time I restart it changes, but I've noticed it does sometimes. For the last few weeks I've smelled like a plastic burning smell, but couldn't find anything. Last time I smelled this it was a plastic bag melted on my exhaust

Although our minds tend to seek a single cause it is frequently several things.
I had a leak in the passenger compartment. It turned out to be two separate grommets had gone bad.
Good Luck.

I noticed this same issue on MsD's SB after I replaced the IAC. Did you recently have the battery disconnected? The SB's idle comes back down to normal in a few seconds and I did have the battery disconnected. Could it be that the computer is re-learning?

check your bellows between the mass air sensor and the throttle body for cuts in the rubber. The clamps can cut the rubber allowing un-metered air into the system causing RPM run-up variously.

I replaced the battery last year, and this started a few weeks ago

I'll go out and check that in a few

No rips, cuts or tears in couplings. Also cleaned the IAC. I started the car and it idled fine, but have not drove it yet. I will in a few when I leave. I'll report back

Just wondering. My EATC needs repairing, could this leak contribute to strange idles and etc...

It would have to be a really bad leak. Although, it does get it's vacuum supply from the engine.

The reason I asked this is last night I had the air on and it seems like I could hear a wheezing sound. When I turned it off it went away. Almost like air was seeping

Mine does that when the TPS needs replacing......try unhooking the negative battery terminal for a couple minutes and see if resetting helps!!;)
