I have BFG all the way around on my 2004 SB. My 2004 DTR has the Nitto Motivo in OE sizes.

I've been looking for all season replacements for my Nittos (255, 295 on widened wheels). I cant seem to find a good combination without going to very low profile tires. Id rather keep most of the sidewalls, if possible. Any suggestions?

I run Hankook 245/45 up front and 295/45 in the rear.

Thanks, Jim. I had been on the Hankook site but didn't find a single model tire that would fit both ends. Going back, it looks like you have Ventus ST on the back and Ventus V12 evo2 on the front. Do they have the correct stagger and have you noticed any issues with running a different tread on the front and back?
Otherwise, these look like a very good option for me. Thanks once again for your sage advice.

I believe you need around a 5% difference from front to back for a 2003 300 b and later
2003 300a doesn't have traction control
Factory tires = 4.74% difference
His tires are 6.2 % difference and has a large gap from the top of the tire to the 1/4 panel
Here is the calculator I used for tire size percentage difference
http://www.anycalculator.com/tiresize.htm
I know 7 marauders here in town running firestone tires, stock sizes

I got the Hankooks. 295 rears now seem to be rubbing on the shocks when I pull into my driveway at an angle. Anybody use spacers to stop this? Will spacers put more stress on the bearings?

I always look at the Load Index and Speed Rating.

do you have widened rims or stock width on rear? my car has like 1/4 inch spacer slipped on. i have widened rears and 295. no rubbing, i dont drive mine daily. i dont see a issue with 1/4 inch. it might be different if racing, autocross weekly or driving like grand theft auto every time.

Yes, I have widened OE wheels. The new Hankooks are rubbing much harder (and more often) than the Nitto 555s I just replaced. The 555s rarely touched.
The car is no longer a DD and doesnt see heavy use, other than my heavy right foot.
Other than that, I like the new Hankooks. They are much quieter and smoother than the Nittos. I havent stressed them hard yet, but the trade of ultimate grip for more comfort is well worth it for me.

I have Weldcraft widened rears, 10" I think. No rubbing issues at all. I have stock wheels up front with the TCE +1 kit so there is a 1/16" spacer.

Summit racing has numerous slip on spacers from mr gasket, gorilla auto, billet specialties, etc..from .125 and up..see what you need and maybe get some .125, or 5mm (.197) or .250 thick. plenty of stud length for lugs. my car has had .25 for like 9-10 years. no issues.

As our cars get older getting matching front and rear sizes is becoming more difficult. I have run the Firestone Wide Oval AS on both Marauders for the past 4 years with little issues. Great traction in wet and dry, relatively quiet when they wear, etc. However, as of about right now the tire is discontinued. That usually is not a big deal but the tire that is taking it over the Firehawk AS is only available in the front 235/50 size, but not the rear 245/55 size. So needless to say I just snagged another pair of rears for the DBP.
With that being said I have done research on many other brands and there is maybe 3 or 4 manufacturers that offer a matching set. I even searched 255/55 and I think found one more off brand. It looks like in the years to come I will have to bite the bullet and buy something on the outside of what my company offers.
Orrrrrr just go widened wheels and forget it ;)
PS- I do not understand why Firestone would drop the 245/55 size it is OEM on the newer Camaro's?
