My new shorty headers are shown below. Well sort of new shorty headers. KC tookl the stock units and sent them off to ExtrudehoneAFM (http://www.extrudehoneafm.com/industries/automotive/) to have the interior surfaces ported and polished to specifications provided by KC, owner of BRG Racing (https://www.facebook.com/brgracing.car/). Extrudehone AFM also ported and polished my heads.

KC is very particular about airflow through the engine. His efforts have produced highly acclaimed engines for car and motorcycle racers. I cannot wait to see the rwhp numbers out of my motor. It is work like this that will deliver over 400 rwhp.

I've read of positive results by extrude honing manifolds, head and intake ports. On another engine platform but air pumps are air pumps. nice.

You have a 300k Marauder and have those pieces of **** on your engine?

This is shameful.
Get some real headers.

Are you aware I live in Nazifornia? I have to pass CA Smog, dude.

Don't you think I want a Lincoln that embarasses Corvette, Viper and just about all else? When I retire and move to Texas, I will install a Kenne Bell 3.6 and a custom 3" exhaust system. Until then, I am doing all I can here in EPA's home state.

Are there any cars to which the emissions standards do not apply?

haha only Cali

I had some FRPPP cobra shorties had to go back to cobra exhaust manifolds when I got rid of my stock manifolds. will not pass with this setup.

Also - had a JLT CAI (no carb eo) I swapped the cone with K&Ns to get the CARB# sticker but the left the JLT tube, no go. These guys looked up the image and said the air intake ok not the tube.. I eventually found shop that didnt lookup my intake tube and just made sure I had my carb sticker....silly.

Not sure about your question, but California has the strictest emissions standards in the US. What KC did was take the stock headers and make it better to extract every tiny bit of hp. Has anyone else done so?

Fir example would an LS powered 1978 Trans Am be subject to emissions standards?

It was not meant to be a trick question. Your earlier comments in this thread got me thinking about how hard it must be to hot rod in CA unless the earlier model cars are exempt.

Anything 76 and older.

That is the answer to my question.

Does the model year roll forward each year? For example in GA emissions only applies to '92 and forward. Next year it will be '93 and forward. There is a 25 year look back. Then again, some of our counties opt out and there is no emissions testing at all....

From my understanding if you have 80 trans am with an LSx swap you will need to bring all the emissions from the 02 trans am over. Also some counties in Cali are exempt as well. California simply states 79 and later will need smog. No look back. It just costs us mor and we have less options when it comes to performance setups.

I am looking to transplant a Duramax diesel into my 03 2500 burb will just need to transplant all smog gear over and all good.

Those look really good. My father is running ported ram air logs on his 68 GTO. Apples to Oranges but made me think of them

Thanks for posting.
Yes, we went through the testing process and have passed with flying colors.
If anyone needs a EO sticker, please call or email us.

California is a beautiful place to visit....

BUT not to own and mod a HP car.

I couldn't bring myself to spend all that money on a cast iron log manifold....but I understand your predicament.
At least (for now) Maryland (mini Nazifornia) just plugs into our OBD2 port and looks for bad things.
My Kooks headers and Hi-flow Cats don't throw any codes....so off I go!

CARB would love every lemming to own a Prius, Leaf, or Smart car.
CARB can shove a 3" header pipe up their 'exhaust port'.

Did you say they can blow it out their exhaust port?

I hope so I've also, done ported heads, cam, intake shorty, 10:1cr and made 331rwhp and 381rwtq. I think the cobra shorty headers are a waste. I'd be interested in what you make with the ported manifolds. I have a set I'll likely send out if your gains are more than what I am making.

Must be diurnal, otherwise you couldn't see the emission while hunting it down. ;)

Run those for the emissions test then change to headers. When it gets time for re-test (every year or 2 years?) swap back.

NY state is the worst. NYC and NY state have rules that differ with every vehicle I own and where I get it inspected. I think only recently have they changed the laws so that California emissions rules apply if the car was purchased in NY state with NY/California sticker under the hood. I called NY state about catalytic converter replacement on an 04 Marauder and the part must be a CA/NY certified or it is "illegal". The rest of the country can use a different part #. I am moving to Maine!

KC knows a highly skilled exhaust shop in Sacramento, CA that will build the custom 3" complete exhaust system: headers, X-pipe, cat-back tubes, high flow cats, etc..., give me an extra 30 hp. The problem being, I must find an CA Smog shop that does not look underneath the vehicle nor notice the headers. Plus, pay the $5,000 (min) for a full 3" exhaust system.

Or, just leave all the legal exhaust and buy an ADTR blower to force the exhaust out the ass of the car.

Long and the short of it is, ......., Maine is a beautiful state!

Leave the cats then do 2.5" to the tailpipe with mufflers of your choice Magnaflow xpipes will give a raspy exhaust note. Also I thought you had ported some cobra manifolds?

Link to my exhaust setup: https://youtu.be/eE7jfDpMCc4

2.5" Mach I mid to xpipe through Corsa DB blacks.

I think I paid $200 for the Corsa DBs new eBay find, $100 for the Mach I mid pipes prior member then another couple hundred to weld all in with 2.5" pipes. Half the fun is finding deals and researching what others have done to make your own.
