Sometime late last year I installed a duel fuel pump setup and also did the wire upgrade and switched out my fuel sender unit for the one I modified for the dual pumps. When I put the key in the on position the fuel gauge meter goes to empty and when I take the key out it slowly goes up to quarter line from empty and stays there until I put the key in the on position again and it does what I mentioned before all over again. Im guessing either unit is bad or i might have wired it wrong but want someone's help confirming that. Car can't turn on at the moment, still a few weeks from firing it up.

It could be wired wrong , it could be hung up , or your mod itself could be the problem , what exactly did you modify?

No idea on ford

General Motors if you pinch the sender wire to ground it goes E

UNDO the wire at the sender and see if it's the hanger or wires out of the tank

The fuel hat. Modified it to run wires for the second fuel pump, also wanted the ablity to simply disconnect the fuel hat from the car so I bought a msd four pin connecter. Two grounds two power wires, also bought an msd 2 pin connecter for fuel level sensor and cannot recall the other wire at the moment. I can now simply unplug the fuel hat remove it when I'm done put it back in and plug it back up and go. Had the gf turn the car on while under it I do hear the pumps priming up if that matters at all.

Will do. Didn't have enough to time today I'll get to it tomorrow in the morning.

Nodding the fuel sender is not necessary with 2 pumps.

The float can be installed backwards. When tank is empty, gauge shows full and when tank is full it shows empty.

Ask me how I know.

Mine has been stuck on "F" the past couple months. I kinda like it like that honestly....just have to keep track of the mileage! Haha, I already ran out twice tho...oops. Oh well.
