Chris of Excessive Motorsports of Manassas, VA installed 4.30 gears, ring & pinion kit, FR500 diff cover and carbon diff kit on my Marauder. No whine sounds like stock except the expected aggressive exhaust tone from higher rpms. You the man Chris thanks for the excellent work!!! I will see you again for the Eaton Swap.

Congrats! Can you feel a huge difference? I really thought I was gonna feel a huge difference when I had 4.10s installed, and now wish I went w 4.30s. If I stay N/A I'll upgrade at a later date, or maybe try a stall before that.

I loved my 4.30's and Trilogy, but I rarely drive the highway.

I only driven it from Manassas to Centreville approx. 10mi. during rush hour Rt 28 stop and go during 100 degree weather. It feels like a smaller vehicle. It gets up and go it feels much faster than before. The brakes also seem a little more responsive. I have a suspension overhaul to do next with complete front end kit, -2" p71 Eaton Springs, KYBs, Addco sways and rear Metco package. I will report back on RPMs I'm guessing 2700-2800 on 295/45/18 nittos.

Opinions on 4.10 versus 4.30 gears?

Been contemplating 4.30's for a few years now. Still contemplating.

Thinking maybe the MARAUDER deserves these, but not sure looking to hear pros and cons, opinions. 4:10s feel good on the black ride, but hopefully owners who had both could give us an insight!

I know of people with 4.56s that are happy. I am now thinking about 4.30s as well.

IMHO.... if you install anything higher than 4.10's and use it on the highway you'll be very unhappy / disappointed.

Lol, the answer is simple!
Have Two Marauders! One with 4.30 or 4.56 for the city driving / track fun and the second with 4.10 for the long cruises / highway driving! :)

I'm getting ready to do the 4:10's. To summarize the one million threads I have read on this :
1. The difference between 3.55 and 3.73 is so close that it's not worth doing.
2. The difference between 4.10 and 4.30 is so huge, it's nutty and extreme.
That should clear it up

I think your right! I bought a second MM about 30 days ago, I can't justify putting gears in my black car. I use it for long distance trips and messing with 25-28 mpg is hard to break away from.
The DTR is mostly a round the city car, might as well put 4.56 gears in it :)

I have the 4.10's and could not be happier. I am N/A with some goodies and it seems to be just enough to keep me out of jail. Contemplating the second cat delete.

4.56 are miserable. Anyone want mine? Lets trade axles. I want to be back on 3.55s.... going 100km/h means turning 2500 rpm. If i go 130 then its 3100 rpm.

I still have my 3.55s in a box if you want them.

The few that drove mine wished they hadn't listened to the Internet and gone the 4.10 route.
With the manual trans I couldn't tell a difference when I went down to 4.10's.
I only switched to gain a beefier pinion to stop shearing all the teeth off.. So far it's worked. [emoji1303]
I will say I don't care for anything over 2,000RPM's at 80. With the auto, that's just about any gear.

Is there any downside to keeping the 28 spline axles with the 4.30 gears, In my case NA.

No. But you might want to look into an upgraded drive shaft and forced lube mod on the trans if you like to blast it down the highway.

I bought mine with 4.30'S and love it. Takes off great for a n/a car and turns about 2900 rpm @ 80 with a precision industries converter. Wouldn't long distance road trip it though but man it's a blast so I'm sure you will love it

With a centri and 425 hp I wish i installed 4.30's. Don't get me wrong I can do a good burnout but the feeling of being out of control is amazing lol.

That is why 4.10's are the best of both worlds. Great take off's and no problem cruising all day at 80+.

What RPMs do you turn at 80 miles per hour with the 4.10'S fastblackmerc? I'm curious to know the difference at 80 miles an hour between the two gear sets. Mine turns about 2900 @ steady 80 which really doesn't bother me but I wouldn't mind it being a little lower.

I know it's about 200PRM higher with the 4.10's vs 3.55's. It's not higher than 2900.
