Every time I have an issue with my 03 MM I go straight to this sight and have ALWAYS gotten great advice. So I hope to get it again. My MM has 147,000 gentle miles on it. a few days ago I was leaving work and started the car up with no problem. After idli g for about 5 seconds the car just quit completely. I didn't think much about it then. It started right back up and ran like a champ. A couple days later I was pulling into my driveway and put the car in park. The car shut off on its own again and it started right back up. I noticed the clock reset to 12:00 and my stereo reset as well. As if the battery had been disconnected. Now today, on a routine trip, I noticed the car seemed to pause and jerk while going approximately 40 mph. It cleared itself out. However later on the trip, at a stop light the car acted as if the tranny was slipping. After parking and coming back 45 minutes later the car ran like a champ again all the way home. Any ideas??

Have the battery and charging system checked out. Also make sure all the grounds and positive connections are clean and tight.

Lift the red rubber water collector off the positive cable

See any corrosion there?

Agree on the above. Loose or dirty ground cables cause a lot of problems. Been there done that.

Thanks guys. I'll check the connections.

Any ideas on the "tranny issue"?
I drove it to work this morning and it ran like a champ. ???

Might be fixed when the other issues are fixed.

Modern day vehicles are very voltage sensitive, so a weak battery/low charge alternator or something else with the wiring/electrical system can cause a waterfall effect on systems in the vehicle.
