First and foremost I would like to thanks a lot to you guys who are really skilled with wrenching on your own or just cars in generally and have been given a bunch of advise on this site. Credit should be giving when credit is due, I seem to always have questions and I can normally find the answer in a thread somewhere on this site.

Alright now to my issue, so I'm putting my car back together after almost two and a half years of being down. And would really like to hit up Mo for a tune but little things seem to keep getting in the way.

At the moment my starter is engaging without the key in the ignition as soon as a connect the ground to the battery, it just spins and doesn't stop until I remove it. Starter is making contact with the flex plate engine is turning over, (not sure if that even matters) I have two starters here and both are doing the same thing which tells me it isn't the starter at fault here.

Any idea what could be the cause of this?

Oh thanks, I had actually pulled that relay out and tried to see if the starter still received power and it did. The smaller starter wire shouldn't be hot unless the key is in the on position at the moment it's hot at all times

It is what activates the solenoid. Just maybe you have an ignition switch problem.

After I realized what you said I came to the same conclusion. I did so some cutting and splicing and it involved the ignition wire when I have the time latter this week, I'll put the wiring back to stock and see if it's doing the same thing.
