I bought a set of 4.10 Ford Racing gears for my 03 dark blue pearl. It came with all new bearings and seals as well as a traction lock rebuild kit. I'm going to get them installed by Lee Blankenship who is a local tuner here in Louisville Kentucky that specializes in Mustangs. my question is will he be able to recalibrate the speedometer for the new gears or will I have to buy a whole separate tuner for that

You'll need a tune for the 4.10's. Get a hold of Mo's Speed Shop (vendor here) Marty (Mo) can set you up with a tune and a tuner if you don't already have one.

Buy a X4 Handheld w/ custom Tune from Mo's Speed Shop. It's great for future modifications. It was actually the first thing I bought when I purchased My Marauder. I had it factory for about a week and never looked back! 4.10's work wonders too, You'll love it.

Whole separate tuner....?????
So do you own a tuner box for that car currently? If you do, see if you can change the gear ratio in the box
What tuner box do you currently own?

No I don't currently dont own a tuner for it. My question is will the tuner that is installing the gears be able to just recalibrate the speedometer because I'm not worried about a handheld tuner at this point

the speedo is electric, so it needs a tune to correct, no cables or speedo gears in the trans. You have to get a tune as the PC and trans are programmed for 3.55 and your shifting will be off. The factory trans shift points are terrible anyway. Just get a SCT xcal for tuned from MO;s sopeed shop for 4.10 gears. You are going to need it before swapping the gears.

Get that thing in the driveway and out of the street! :)
You need a SCTx2 tuner and a 4.10 tune. No your tuner cannot change your speedometer.

Mo is REALLY is a good guy, and hospitality is top notch! But... If your already planning a trip to Lee's, I'm quite sure he stocks Xcal's..
If not, don't hesitate to reach out to Mo!

The tuner can adjust a lot more than just the speedo.. It will improve your shifting and eliminate the constant hunt for gears from the original tune that was set up for the EPA and not ideal for every day driving.
