Since I've had my 03 every year I'm forced to change this O-ring. It sits on a sleeve that this bolt goes through. Located on drivers side head right after oil dipstick. Once a year this guy decides to go flat and a very small but persisent oil spot forms. Any thoughts on what's going on here?

I like to put a paper thin layer of black RTV on them. I'm probably the only one.. But they never leak.

Silicone will work. Are you torquing them to spec? Too tight and you'll deform them.

This is untrue.
The metal spacer prevents deforming.

i think that metal sleeve prevents you from overtightening but i just use a 3/8's till tight.. not sure if the oil spot is indicative of a larger problem? hence my thread.
