Oil Pickups...

So... building a 4V engine off a Mk VIII block. I bought a new oil pump and marauder oil pan AND a new pickup tube from MMR that was advertised as being correct for my application. Well, they didn't fit correctly. Oil pickup tube bumped the baffles inside the pan and therefore would not seat correctly. Lo and behold, the original MkVIII oil pickup tube fits perfectly. Go figure.

I thought the diameters of the tube were different. (Mainly speaking about the oil pump inlet.)

*shrugs* I know, that's what I've been told, but it fit nice and snug. I have a rear end on a Jeep to try to install today. When done I am going to make some measurments.

...will follow this thread as I recently picked up a '98 Mark VIII engine that I am considering using as a short block back-up motor for my 2003 Marauder.
