Today at a stop light I smelled oil burning somewhere under the hood. The best I can tell it is coming from the drivers side valve cover in the front and dripping down the side onto the oil filter. Before I buy new gaskets, is this a pretty common place for oil leaks on the marauders?

I've never experienced a valve cover leak on any of my Panthers.

Are you sure it's not coming from the oil filter adapter gasket? That's way lower...but is common for the 4.6L V8s...

Oil filter housing gasket

Wash it down and check for leaks, if the filter looks oily all the time, see above

I've had to replace both the oil filter adapter gasket and the valve gaskets, but the oil filter adapter leaked the most and was most noticeable.

My oil filter adapter had a hairline crack at one of the NPT ports, wound up TIG welding it up, no more dribble...
