As some of you who may have read some of my previous posts may have picked up on, I am an "Old School" racer with a LOT of time in relatively old Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. As such, I have the Hollander Intercange Manual that covers nearly every vehicle I have ever owned (most of these vehicles, I still own).
Anyway, I was trying to price out the Hollander for the Marauder (72 edition is probably the best bet) and found that puppy goes for around 500$...trying to keep from paying that much, so...
Does anyone knows (FOR SURE) whether or not the 2001 Cobra timing chain cover will work without major modification on our cars?
I am looking at putting together a back-up short block (using more readily available, read that cheaper, parts) for my 2003 Maraauder. The guy from whom I recently purchased a 2001 Cobra Teksid block advised that he also has the timing chain cover for the motor and that he will send it to me if I just cover shipping.
Quite frankly, I plan on getting the cover from him anyway as I am also putting together a "Race" motor using a different Teksid block and either "B' or "C' heads.
So again, the question is do anyone know whether there are MAJOR issues with using the 2001 cobra timing chain cover on our motors? If so, what are those issues?
Thanks!
BT
