With installation of a new engine, my thought is replace key engine wiring (main engine harness). Of course, I could wait until something fails and then have do so.
That said, which of the engine systems related wiring would you recommend replacing? And yes, if you feel this step is unnecessary, I welcome that view.
If you recommend replacing the main engine harness, what is correct for my 2004, please? I looked it up on FordPart.com and even entered my VIN, but I am having trouble locating the main engine wire harness.

Couple months back one sold on eBay for 100.00. I thought about buying it since it was brand new.
Good luck finding one.

Are you saying www.fordparts.com does not sell them?
If not, what company can custom build the main engine wire harness?

How many miles and what conditions have your car faced?

75,000 - daily driver in CA and garaged its whole life.
I was thinking of something like:
* Dunne-Rite Performance (http://www.dunne-rite.com/product/4-6-4v-street-rod-harness-includes-frcm/)
* Rywire.com (http://www.rywire.com/product-p/mil-spec-custom-harness.htm)
* Ron Francis (https://www.ronfrancis.com/products.asp?dept=292)
I mean hell, I have upgraded everything else for this project. I feel embarrassed I forgot all about the engine systems wiring, connectors, lugs, clips, etc..

Don't bother. 75k isn't squat
My black has 206 works fine. If you didn't have issues before, then wait until it breaks. Not like there's preventative maintenance on your electrical harness
I have zero faith that they would build it correctly anyway. Honestly if you want to do it, do it after the motor is running, just food for thought

I'd not replace it unless you had problems. I'd inspect every inch of it though.

As no OEM or readily available product is available, I am leaving it as is. If a problem does occur, I am stuck waiting for a solution that could take multiple weeks.

The only prob I had to fix on my harness was a few COP coil connectors,They are very thin wires to repair.:eek:

Just imagine the nightmare you would have if they made you a harness, forgot to put correct resistors at the end of a few wires, and your NEXT mechanic tries to get it started?
Like I said, make life easy. Put the old harness in, get it running and driving, then decide on finding a company to make it. I just don't think you will be happy with a aftermarket harness AND the problems that it will bring

I choose to follow this advice, which echos many others on this thread.
Thank you all.

I agree with everyone else. Get it running, tuned, and all broken in before messing with the wiring or you could very easily have even further issues. Besides, anyone with any kind of basic skill can remove the engine harness in thirty minutes. Consider it an easy after thought.
I'm quite sure KC has many steak plates on his table. But twenty-one months?? It might just be time to remind him that you paid for the filet mignon and the price of red wine was never a factor. Chop chop

BRG has had the car since early January 2016. Before that, a litany of other delays surfaced, none of which were BRG related. But, 10 months is still too long! Especially for what I have paid in labor alone.
