shifter console lights?

It seems odd to me that there are no lights illuminating the P, R, N, D, 2, 1 on the shifter console, is it supposed to have it? Anyone else notice this? They just didn't deem it necessary to see what gear it's in during the hours of darkness, I am compiling a list of deficencies before I take her back to the dealer. Thank you.

They DO light up when your lights are on...

It's a Ford thing. My Taurus with console shift didn't have any lights in it either.

lol... my lights are on the switch is turned to the on postion, all other interior lights are on, I guess if yours work then mine is defective.

Guess you need to see your dealer.

You have instrument lights too? Maybe your dimmer is all the way down? Just a thought...
