So picking up a teskid block next month from a 96 cobra. Know I will have to change the heads back to mine and the timing cover. Is there anything else I need to switch for it to work in mine. Also, it had an SCT tune on it for the supercharger, but it also had the stock tune. My question now is the stock tune, will it still work with a different block but same heads and all? Or do I need a new tune and how do I go about doing that if I need one? Any help is greatly appreciated

Or do I even need the tuner? Like can I just plug in the PCM and be good? Really lost here but wanna do it right the first time

Heads, timing cover, intake, injectors, oil pan and pick up tube to name most.
Stock tune.
Were you given any of the stock parts to go with the Marauder? If not, you might want to download the Trilogy manual online and see what's all missing. I know the EGR tube is different and an idler pulley at minimum.

im sure it will depend on the compression ratio you build it at. it will need a stock tune or onebfor any changes made. i dont think block will change anything, but im not sure exactly. You can contact martyo here in forums as he remote tuned thar car originally. a tune for thenstock motor is worth it over stock shifting schedule.

It is going to be NA. He took the trilogy off before I bought the car and sold it to a guy in the states.

Then I would agree that the stock tune would be good enough to fire it up and drive it around, although as RCR suggested above you might want to contact Marty and get a GOOD tune... :D

If the original owner just pulled the Trilogy and sold it, he probably did not reload the stock tune. You'll need the tuner to reload the stock NA tune and get it running. There may be other bits and pieces missing, for instance the throttle body (standard Trilogy kit re-uses the OEM TB).

I have the tuner
What is on it?
Is the wide band gauge still in the car?
MunsterBro95

No the wide band is gone

That doesn't help.
Are the headers still on it?

Let me chime in here...
I bought my Marauder and did my own version of a 4.6 NA build. I did a lot (see signature link, teksid included). My compression bumped up over 10 because of the pistons I choose. Cams degreed. That being said, the car came with a 91 Marty tune, no stock tune. Even after having a dyno tune locally, I reverted back to Marty's tune. No issues with my A/F. Marty does good work. I plan to have him re-tune it remotely at some point.

Yea I plan on keeping the cams and pistons that are in the teskid. Want to get it running and then upgrades later. Or possibly... no upgrades and buy the 5.0 I want and swap it all together...

I missed a beat.
Get the Wideband or get the tune?

I have the SCT tune X4 for the car but no more wideband. Still have the headers though.

So besides the heads, injectors, timing cover, oil pan, and pick up tube, what else do I need to swap from my old motor to the teskid for it to work? Talked to MartyO and he said he's not sure as he has never done one and would have t compare the two. Any help is appreciated. Just want to know what's going on before I send the money and be wrong, again

Intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, coolant tube under intake, coolant crossover tube, relocate knock sensor.

This is not completely accurate and there was a lot more to our conversation than that. Oh well.

I know. I didn't mean it in a bad way. Just summed it up. Sorry if it came out bad. New plan is gonna wait till tax time when I have a much bigger budget and do this correctly and not rushed so it can be done right. Sorry again MartyO

So wanted to correct myself and clarify. MartyO told me that he didn't want to tell me for sure what I would need without looking at both engines. Totally understandable. He did open my eyes though about how difficult it would be. However, wife told me if I get a beater car for right now, that she would let me do WHATEVER I want to the car next year, i.e. new crate motor, supercharger, etc. Gonna start ordering stuff around taxes. So if anyone has any tips on upgrades, or a good idea for motor (how difficult would it be to swap to a 5.0 or do yall think the 4.6 is better?) and any other upgrades. I want reliability and a good all around car. Suspension and all. needs to also be able to handle autobahn speeds, constant 80 mph. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as will have a big budget. but not expected it to be completed until middle of next year. Gonna do this slow and right the first time. Thanks again for the help and advice MartyO

A 5.0 swap has been done, but it is not easy, for one the marauder trans is not compatible. There is a thread here about a 5.0 swap (truck motor) and a turbo added. I don't know if I would recommend a supercharger for extended autobahn running..the guy that owned the car before you blew the motor, possibly from extended journeys at 100+. Hopefully someone else will have more input on that.. there are motors out there from various suppliers, mmr, livernois etc..but you will still need maraduer specific parts on it that you have just recently asked about, so remember that. I know of no direct fit replacement motors specific to the marauder that would require no swapping of anything.

the owner of that blown motor with the trilogy told me he popped at 172 , according to his gps . that's to be belived or not . he did not have any cooling mods on that moteor . and im wondering if he ever bled all the air from the cooler . I had a hell of a time getting all the air out of mine . also from all the parts I received from him they had more rtv coming out then a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich . just adding some input to previous post .

I did help him (remotely) bleed the intercooler. Not that that helped his situation. Lol

If he was really going 172, he's lucky that was the only thing that went. Highly doubt his tires are rated for that speed.

OEMs rated to 168MPH.
TIRERACK;
That ultimately caused the automotive industry to add W- and Y-speed ratings to identify the tires that meet the needs of new vehicles that have extremely high top-speed capabilities.
W 168 mph 270 km/h Exotic Sports Cars
Y 186 mph 300 km/h Exotic Sports Cars
While a Z-speed rating still often appears in the tire size designation of these tires, such as 225/50ZR16 91W, the Z in the size signifies a maximum speed capability in excess of 149 mph, 240 km/h; the W in the service description indicates the tire's 168 mph, 270 km/h maximum speed.

106 mph = 172km
a stock marauder engine with base trilogy is not gonna get to 172

MI2QWK4U went 160+MPH on a road course with a Trilogy.
I am not sure what other mods he may have had.

160+ should be easily achievable. My aerodynamic brick has got more than enough power and gearing to easily obtain the 200 MPH club.
Only thing it's missing is tires, a driver, and oh yeah aerodynamics.. I sure as hell would be worried about taking flight.
