Anyone ever have to replace the rubber adapter/sleeve that connects the PCV tube to the intake manifold? I went to Ford and they want $75 for the tube itself, which appears to come with the rubber sleeves for both ends. They also said 2 weeks for it to be shipped here from Memphis.

Mine has shredded almost completely through. I've wrapped it in duct tape for now.

FWIW, mine did the same thing and I went to an auto parts store and bought a small length of heater hose 3/4 ID, about 4" length, problem solved. The hose can take the heat. The oil residue is too small to warrant any special material for a 13 yr replacement cycle.

Cost free. Post up if this fixes your problem. Maybe we can make it a sticky.

The intake port and the PCV tube look to be significantly different sizes.

here's a quick picture. Note that it's just one piece now, the new hose.

I replaced mine. It was torn and made my engine rev.
Look online before going to your local stealer.

here are better pictures of the fix I used.

That looks very different from the original setup. Looks like you used a different pcv valve altogether, and moved it up near the intake manifold (my pcv valve is bolted to the cam cover). If that shiny bit of metal between the two rubber hoses isn't a pcv valve, what is it?

And the other end of the hose / hard lines goes to the back of the cover... not the front like stock.

I'm going to try some heat-shrink tubing. It should work, and hold at least long enough to get a proper replacement.
Another alternative could be Dorman part# 47050, if I can get my hands on one.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and suggest that that setup is for a supercharged motor.

As much as I appreciate the offer to help, as written this solution is only half-baked. Pics prove it exists, but I can't replicate without the details. And, since I'm away from home without my tools, I basically get one chance to fix it (as I won't be able to re-install the disintegrated hose once it's removed).

I ended up going to my local Ford parts counter, where I picked up a replacement tube and separate PCV valve.
The new tube has been redesigned, with 45 degree rubber couplers at both ends, and is now routed under the fuel line. Both ends are apparently the same inside diameter, so it was a pain to get it onto the intake. But, since it's rubber, the pain was minor.
The PCV valve I got was identical to the original.
Missing from the equation is the 90 degree angle fitting that sits on top of the valve. I couldn't figure any other way to install the new tube without it, and couldn't get it off the old valve, so I continue to use to old valve. Went back to Ford to ask about it, but was told (by a different guy) that there is no right-angle adapter specified.

Here's a pic of the new tube:

Odd as I just bought 2 new hoses from Ford and they were exactly the same as the originals.

Heat gun, 45 seconds, swap to the new one, done.

Seems that this part is common for failure; replaced mine June this year.
