View Full Version : ARNOTT Air Compressor PN?

Hi all!

Anyone have a PN or link to the Arnott air suspension compressor for our Marauders? I found a link on one of the old posts here but it's not available anymore. Local NAPA can order the Dorman for me but I don't see may good reviews.

I think my compressor died. Drove home 3 miles bouncing like crazy. rear is down, compressor doesn't come on, air suspension light on. I checked the fuses and relay, all seems fine there.

Also, is there a sticky on replacing one anywhere? Seems like a simple job, just wondering.

If it's not one thing, it's another with this car! :(

Thanks!

Is it the same one that's on the grand Marquis? Might be able to hit a salvage yard

If you don't use this one, get the Suncore. Stay away from Dorman...

I've installed 3 Arnott compressors, (not all in the same car ) and they come with nice instructions, although it is pretty obvious: one power connector and one air line.

Yes, Arnott is the best choice at the moment.

Unless the car was immaculately kept and not from a rust-belt state (like Rhode Island) it's likely to be corroded and won't last long.

Thanks for all the tips and a special thanks to RFOverlord. It turned out not to be the compressor. I checked out the ride height sensor and the arm disconnected. I snapped it back in, turned the key and car went back to the correct height.

Doing more research for a permanent fix.

Pete since your in air suspension mode a good tip to extend the life of the compressor is to drill some bigger holes in the plastic valley that the compressor sits in. Water can accumulate and drown the compressor if the tiny holes that Ford put in fill with crud.:)

Yeah, I plan to do that. Looks like the same problem you had at Marauderville. The little ball connector is rusty and worn and arm fell off. I turned the ball 1/4 turn as mentioned in another post. Looks like it's good to go temporarily till I get the part(s).

I wonder why our car went up while everyone else's car goes down?

Someone dropped a Viagra in the gas tank?

Is this as easy to replace as it seems?

I should just order a new air compressor. I know it's going to fail at the worst possible time. Might as well replace it now while it's nice outside instead of 20 below zero. And yes, I drive my Marauder all year. :)

Is this as easy to replace as it seems?Yes. Just mark the current location so the car comes back to the same height.
