Recently I have been getting the air suspension light only on cold mornings. I was able to get it to go away by flipping the switch off and then back on. Is this a sign of the system failing or having already failed? my suspension doesnt seem to be lower.

Also the past two days i noticed when i parked the car and shut it off there has been a clicking noise coming from the rear of the car. Any idea of this is related to the air suspension?

car just hit 100K

Thanks

Once you exit the vehicle, the RAS will attempt to re-level (lower) so it will open the air spring solenoids and the vent solenoid on the compressor. You should also hear the "ghost" sound from the compressor area as air is vented.

You should hear the compressor run if you get in the car, close the door, and turn the ignition to "on" (don't start the engine).

sometimes i hear it, sometimes nothing. I should note that my light didnt immediately come on this morning.. it came on after I filled up the gas tank after it was near E.

ive heard a "Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" sound when exiting the car before. not always but mostly when i park at my house which is on a hill. the clicking sound is something new but i'm guessing its the air spring solenoids?

I would think a Brrrrr was the sound of the compressor running, which it shouldn't do when you exit the vehicle. The "ghost" sound I was referring to is more of a hollow "woooosh".

Go to Lincolnsonline and look in their tech section for the article on RAS operation...it will explain exactly how the system works and what you should expect.
