A friend gave me a heads up to a 1968 Buick Electra 225 - a/k/a Deuce and a Quarter. The car had been sitting in a garage for 25 years and the owner wanted it gone. So, I had to by it.

Put a little elbow grease into getting it ready for the road and cleaned up. Put some 22s on it, got the AC working, and put a new exhaust on it. A sound system is next.

Here she is...

I dunno if you can classify a Deuce & 1/4 as a hooptie, huge maybe. lol

Way to go Marty! Saved another one and made it even cooler than it was when it rolled off the line. My dad had a series of Electras starting with that year! My favorite was the 1976 225 Limited. I remember many a hockey trip in Wisconsin in that car. I was able to change into my full goalie gear in the back seat while driving to a game or tournament.

Aside from the paint chips on the driver side quarter panel that thing is in really good shape from the outside. How's the underside look? it's a 68 so 430ci V8 with a 4 barrel if I remember right. 360hp and 470ish torque?

Super cool.

All correct.

The bottom side and interior are amazing. The car was encapsulated in dust. Just finished the clean up of the glass, carpet, and interior this evening.

It needs curb feelers and grounding straps to be a true hooptie.

look how mint that front end is, that is usually the first to go with that many points. The Buick shield is also often missing. Nice find. Is that the original vinyl top?

My 1st car was a 69 Buick Electra 225. 430 4bbl. A LOT of LEG Room in the back seat. A LOT! I was like 17 when I got it. That back seat doesn't need to talk at all.

Any thoughts on up grading the brakes on that thing. Or, are you just going to use a boat anchor for that Land Yacht?

I serviced the brakes and it stops very well, so no further plans. Right now. :D

"fits about 20" and its "as big as a whale and its about to set sail"

I don't know why but I always loved the land yachts. Loved big American cars. Unfortunately, they never get their due respect.

She sure is a beauty. Congrats.

My Dad owned a Wildcat before I could drive. I then Learned to drive on my Dad's 1972 "Oh knows Bill" Delta Royal 455 Rocket Engine. Once quoted in a car mag as ,"The only stock motor that could show its tail lights to the Hemi's of the day." Its' name was, wait for it... "Bambi."

I love these Wildcats... Love the 455Rocket cars... One of the reasons I/we own Marauders.

Great find. Post more photos!!! I love it.

I grew up with 430 + 455 Buicks including a 70 estate wagon that would beat most Chevelles
500 inch 70 Eldorado - 400hp/550tq that year (I think) - 15" front rubber everywhere
my dad knew good cars

I owned a 70 2-door Wildcat last year they made it only year with a 455. Loved that car if it was a convertible I'd still own it but I sold that for my 442 so I can't complain.

Back in the early 70's the NJ State Police used Rocket 455 [w30's] Delta sedans as patrol cars. [Not your Fathers Oldsmobile LOL }..:banana2:

Kind of off-topic, but my cousin had a 68 442 with N50's in back and skinnies up front. We were driving down Blossom Hill in San Jose and I see a wheel attached to an axle out the passenger window. The tires were so wide that it stayed plumb for about 200 feet before she layed over. My interpretation is to make sure everything is tight before modding...ball joints and everything suspension related was designed for what was available at the time.

I haven't heard N50s's in ages. love it.
