Its not an exact replacement but it fits nicely and looks great. No modifications needed just insert and twist. As you can see its shorter then the Ford OEM bulb but being a green LED it is bright enough it works well enough. A little different green, I actually like it better. I did a bunch of research and IIRC it is from a Mazda dashboard light. They are called Neo Wedge LED bulbs

By the way, does anyone remember/know if the dimmer switch is supposed to light up

Good find.

No the dimmer was not illuminated.

Doesn't matter if the LED is green or white as there is a green mask that the light shines thru.

An LED is usually much brighter than an incandescent.

BTW... I believe it's actually a "T5 Tall Neowedge".

I convert the originals to LED.

The one I used was a T4. What's the difference between 4 and 5?

The "T" size is the diameter of the base.

T3 = 8mm

T4 = 10mm

T5 = 12mm

I'll measure the base.

close, I'll find the link and post later. Found a zillion of those, all too short but as bright as an LED is maybe a short one would work as well

I replaced mine with a Type B Tall (T4) Neo-Wedge from http://www.autolumination.com/74.htm

You can use White or Green coloring, white will give it the factory lightish green color, a green led will give it more of a deep emerald color.

What tools did you use to take the headlight switch out of the dashboard without damaging the headlight switch?

I remove the instrument bezel first.

I suppose you can get a plastic pry tool in there.

I just used a plastic pry tool much easier. Push in on the left side first, then up top and then it pops out

Is the bulb (not LED) the same as the one for the instrument cluster lamps?

Is there a number for the standard lamp?
