I don't think anyone has posted this article yet, but it makes for interesting reading after the fact.

"Ford earns big money on the cars because it's the only automaker selling a non-luxury, full-size, six-passenger, rear-wheel-drive car with a V-8 engine. It's the kind of car that best describes Detroit's heyday 30 or 40 years ago."

Really? Would you classify this car as non-luxury? I wouldn't. 'Bout the only thing I can think of missing is the butt-warmers...

I know it's not a young person car, but I'm surprised by that... Would've thought the DeVille would take that honor.

My last car I purchased for 14K and it had 11k miles on it. It was a 95 Grand Marquis LS loaded with digital dash, leather, and more. It was the best car I have ever owned. Aside from some window problems there were not any. That is why I bought a MM. Faster, but the same. When I sell the MM, I'll probably go back to the Grand M. Car for money, you just cant beat it.

Now that's finally a good article on our panther platform cars. I cringed thinking this was another one of those articles written by clueless eco-freaks getting ready to bash my favorite car platform, but I enjoyed reading it. I had no idea that these cars were so profitable, but that's wonderful since profit is the driving force behind whether we'll be able to by these cars in the future or not. Especially when you consider fully loaded Accord's, Maxipads, and Camry's pushing to near $30k, to even $32-33k fully loaded, you just can't get a better value than a panther platform based car. I'm curious to see whether the CV/GM platform will get the new 24 valve SOHC 4.6 litre V8...........
