According to "Automotive News" anyway. They have a list of the top 10 "man's vehicles" in the May 24 edition. Number one on the list was the Viper with 91% of its buyers being male. The Marauder was number 7 on the list with 88.5% male buyers, behind the Viper, 911, Corvette Convertible, Tundra, Maserati Coupe, and the Dakota. The MB CL and the Chevy / GMC pickups rounded out the list.

I wonder where they got the data from, since it seems that Ford doesn't publish the Marauder data separately from the GM?

On a side note, I was waiting for my wife to bring my youngest to the church this morning, and I was sitting in the parking lot in my work truck, while keeping an eye out for her green Expedition. When I looked up, I noticed a mean and good looking black car coming across the parking lot. Hey - that's a Marauder! H E Y ! ! That's MY Marauder!! I still love my car!

I can't speak for any of the other guys, but personally I find "car-chicks" (to use a similar phrase as "car-guys") to be pretty damn cool. There's nothing more attractive than a pretty lady with grease under her fingernails. ;) I'd fetch the wrenches and sockets for such a lady any time. :rock:

well, i tell you. when i wash it and wax it, i get more people asking questions. its the best feeling driving something so special and mean looking. still needs 100 more hp. but i love her. :)

I'm glad that we have some lovely ladies on this forum as every car community i've been associated with in the past has been all guys. It's great to have a diverse group of people interested in Marauders. As far as the new F150 goes, i've honestly seen more women driving them than guys. Maybe with an interior so lush and rich, it's now attracting more sensitive members of the population.

Since last August, I've put around 15k miles on the car.

I'm now taking 3 dance classes (Latin partner and swing dancing with a friend of the female sort) I do a load of driving and there are way too many miles on the car.

Uh...come the August meet I'll start thinking about it:D

I like the Carolina/Southern Marauder member's meet idea...I'd be more than willing to do all of the reservations and plans for the day ect. ect. ect. (if anyone can come up with some ect.)

So yes, I'm ready to come, just not allowed!

Sounds like the female owners need their own badge: The 11.5 percenters.

But, really, how did they come up with the numbers? I don't recall filling out any survey that asked if I were a boy or a girl. And a lot of names can be either/or. Do the dealers keep track some how?

OK, so it's the dealers who check off a secret M/F box on their sales form. But what if "Pat" from the old Saturday Night Live walks in and buys a Marauder?

I could be wrong, but it seems like more than 88.5 per cent of members of MM.net are male. So, either Automotive News got it wrong, or for some reason most female owners don't find their way to this site. Glad I'm not one of them 'cause I'm enjoying my addiction.
