I'd been looking for a nice P71 Crown vic, but nice ones are difficult to find. Then I started looking at Marauders. I finally found an '03 that was owned by a retired couple with 53k miles. The price was reasonable, so I bought it. I've been driving it to work all week. It's a huge upgrade over the '90 Mustang 5.0 LX I had been driving. I hope to learn more here.

Welcome to the MODNESS! Tell us more about your new ride. The best color is DTR, then DBP. SB and Black are nice too. Seriously they are all great looking colors. Ask me how I know. The best first thing you can do is buy a tuner and have Marty from MO's Speed Shop put a tune on it. It really wakes the car up and improves the shifting. Enjoy your new ride!:flamer:

Glad you got a MM , now change all the fluids in it ASAP

It's black and completely stock except for an aftermarket remote start. I still don't know all of the options that were available. It doesn't have heated seats or a full sized spare. I have other hotrods, so I'm not looking to mod this one. I'd consider a tuner though.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

There were very few Options on these cars. They came pretty much loaded. In 2003 the options were heated seats and a 6 disc remote cd changer and a cargo net. I am not sure if there was another option or not in 03. I 2004 they added a sun roof.

I did get a trunk mounted 6 disc changer and a trunk organizer.

Sounds like you a 300B car. Is the Clock in the radio or center of the dash?

I said the very same thing, once you start......it's hard to quit.
But welcome, and enjoy the new ride.

I was looking up the differences and someone said that 300A cars don't have a traction control switch. I do have a traction control switch.
Is one model more desirable than the other?

Not really. It depends on your personal preference. The 300A had some features that some people like. For others, the changes were irrelevant. Purists prefer no Traction Control and the ability to run the same sized tires on all 4 corners. Others like TC and the ability to turn it off when the fun begins. The real appeal of the 300A is that they all were the original, early builds ... And all were in Black. The Black with Light Flint is the rarest of all including the Blue MMs.

You most likely have a 300b
Traction control
Non locking gas cap lid
Or a "betweener". Does your car have map pockets in the front of the front seats? 300a did
Or yours could fall into the "late" 300a
It would have map pockets, locking gas cap lid, mini spare, may have heated seats and would have traction control
What options does yours have? Do you have the window sticker?

I didn't get a window sticker. It sounds like I have a 300B. No map pockets, non locking gas cap lid, minispare, traction control switch.

To me the flat gas lid, with no raised finger slot, is the best feature of the 300A. Much more sophisticated looking. Next, is the map pockets to hold your sleek Belgium Browning HiPower.
But these are small details... WELCOME. NICE LOWER MILE FIND! Like anything well designed and made, THE MORE YOU DRIVE IT, THE MORE YOU WILL LOVE IT!

I don't think 300A vs 300B is too much of a worry for most. I know for me I didn't care as long as it was a Marauder!
