Torque Converter install

I Recently had my motor and tranny built on my MM.
When i went to seat my transmission to my motor the torque converter was tight to the flex plate. Did i do something wrong. I was almost certain that the torque converter was seated properly. I did have to buy a different flex plate because i went to an 8 bolt main.

When you seat the torque converter there should be two clicks.

There are 8 bolt flex plates that are incorrect. 05+ mustangs I think

Yea that looks about how it went for me.
I bought a flex plate that other users on here said they used and it was working.
I was going to fill the car with fluids and start it today but now i will be ripping the tranny back out i guess.:mad2:

Best way to get the starter off with long tube headers?

which longtubes? i hear that stainless works should have plenty room to get at starter. kooks, not so much, might mean remove header. im not sure myself.

they are stainless works. I'm thinking 3 feet in extensions to come from the front of the motor might be the best. haha

That is the same flexplate I bought. for my 8 bolt crank. no problems here. What exactly is the problem youre having?

do you mean the bolt holes were slightly off? if youre using the stock torque converter they will be. and you will have to drill out the holes.

Stainless Works headers don't interfere with the starter at all.
