I noticed my belt tensioner jumping around as my car idles. So I was looking at Rock Auto website and I see a few. Does it really matter which?

I'd replace the idler and the tensioner. They both do the same amount of work.

I went with a Dayco. It's been fine ever since over a year now.

If there is any difference in the "jumping around" between the old and the new?

Does it go from a long jump to a high jump or to a Punk Rock Pogo Jump?

Unless there is a misfire the jumping belt is probably caused by the tensioner spring losing it's ability to keep the correct tension on the pulley.

Here's the video of the idler. Don't pay any attention to the half rusty looking bolt. I'll get that when I replace the idler.

Doesn't seem to be jumping as much as it was when it was warmed up. This was the first start in a few weeks. Car wasn't even at normal operating Temps

Tensioners can also "jiggle" if there's crud in the grooves of one (or more) of the pulleys.

That's a procharger right?? Do you know the part # for the blue idler pulley? I need to replace that one and want to do it first thing in the spring when the car comes out of storage.

Just replace the bearing. I guarantee it's a 6203 like every other one on the car and every other car out there.

I keep a handful in stock. [emoji1303]

Agreed however my actual pulley is worn out where the belt rides (there is an actual groove where the belt rides, it's an aluminum pulley on there now) .

I had gone to a few parts places around here to ask about a pulley and they looked at me like I was from another planet.
