Well after 2 months of looking and reading posts on this forum I am the proud owner of a MM. 1st question is: my marauder has the chrome shifter, shifter bezel and shifter button. I know they are suppose to be dot matrix but, am I the only one w/ chrome? I kinda like it since it stands out and matches the wheels and exhausts tips! I believe since they halted production on the LSE - they are trying to use all the parts up.

Hmmm...can you get us a few pics of this chrome? I am anxious to see the latest from the production line.

Chrome bezel is used on LSE and CV SPort (which is still in production). Marauder SHOULD have the dot matrix finish bezel.

Shift change problem?

I too would like to see a pic of the Marauder interior with that chrome shifter bezel. I've been thinking about switching over to it, as I think that "dot matrix" stuff looks like crap. If I switch over to the chrome, I'll also change out all the "dot matrix" stuff to the regular GM "wood" trim. It should look pretty good against the dark colored dash and leather IMHO.

Ditto, the dot matrix wouldn't been my first choice for the interior, but I've owned the Grand Marquis with the wood, I like that look better.

Ditto, here as well. That dot matrix crap is really my only complaint with the car. Was the wifes first comment, " Can this be replaced with wood?"
We need to get the p/n's and prices to pull off this mod. I am all for it.

Okay, now I'm getting a wood-y...

Seriously, I'd like the wood-grain accents better, as well...I'll go by my dealer parts dept. and see if I can scope out the numbers...

Sorry for the bad joke...I couldn't resist...

To each his own, I suppose. Me: I'm not a big fan of "plastic wood."

Same here. Dot matrix looks much better to me than the simulated wood-grain finish.

I kinda like the dot matrix.....but then again I've seen some simulated wood finishes on more expensive cars that I've really liked.
What I want is a better steering wheel. A 4 spoke wheel similar to that of the LS. The general (GM) has some nice 4 spoke wheels on some of its products...especially the cady line.

I am inclined to agree I would rather have wood as well...the only problem is the part to the left of the steering column, at least for the early models. On the GM it is going to have two switch openings as they have Traction Control and we don't... Maybe a earlier year part will do it but the 03 GM won't... What year did the adjustable pedals start?

Hey guys here are ther numbers I just looked up.....

1W3Z-7D443-CA Chrome shifter bezel List $68.67
3W3Z-54046A63-DAC Left trim with traction and adj pedals $63.65
3W3Z-54046A63-CAD Left trim without traction with adj pedals $63.65
3W3Z-54046A62-BAC Right trim 'LS' $108.75
3W3Z-54046A62-AAC Right trim 'GS' $108.75

Now these parts are listed as "Midnight Black" and are different than Marauder so I'm assuming they're Woodgrain(I haven't actually seen a regular GM up close as I work at the Ford dealer)

Hey MassMarauder:

What town are you in? There are 2 of us on the Cape, do you know of any more in SE Mass?

Took all these part numbers to fordparts.com and here are their discounted prices:

1W3Z-7D443-CA Chrome shifter bezel List $68.67 Disc $52.16
3W3Z-54046A63-DAC Left trim with traction and adj pedals $63.65 Disc. $48.35
3W3Z-54046A63-CAD Left trim without traction with adj pedals $63.65 Disc. $48.35
3W3Z-54046A62-BAC Right trim 'LS' $108.75 Disc. $82.61
3W3Z-54046A62-AAC Right trim 'GS' $108.75 Disc. $82.61

Now all we need are the part numbers for the trim on the doors. Can you look these up too?

TIA

OK, unfortunately you have to get the whole door panel for those trims. They are:
3W3Z-5423942-DAC RF $496.08
3W3Z-5423943-DAC LF $496.08
3W3Z-5427406-AAC RR $666.07
3W3Z-5427407-AAC LR $690.85

The only thing I'd have done with my interior is pop the dot off to have it chromed somehow. I HATE that fake wood stuff. We're not driving grandpa cars here... I'll take my dot over the wood any day!

So much for that idea.....................

What's up with the left rear door...$25 more than the right...? On second thought, nevermind...there's no explaining Ford's accounting practices...

I still like the wood-trim idea for the dash, anyway...just ordered the matte black door-edge guards from Torrie, maybe I'll add the trim to that order...

I added those part numbers to the list in the garage

Does the one for Chrome shifter bezel include the shift lever?
