Back in September only weeks after Euro-Marauderville I have been attending a rather large American car show in the German motor city of Stuttgart with my car, they had a couple Impala SS on display in the performance sedan section but I was the only Marauder. Few hours into the show I was approched by one of the organizers who also happened to be an editorial journalist for a well know German car magazine. He told me he got very excited when someone told him that a Marauder had appeared on the back of his lot, he had heard a lot about the car but never got to see one in person so he was super excited to see it and wanted to know all about it. We've been chatting for a while and I took him for a spin in it, he loved every bit of it and told me it is a real shame that the Marauder is very much unknown in Germany so he would like to change that and put it in a magazine.

Said and done, last weekend I received an official invite from Motor Press Stuttgart (http://www.motorpresse.de) and their Youngtimer Magazine (http://shop.motorpresse.de/youngtimer/start/) to come down to Stuttgart again for a photo shoot. One of the Impala guys I met at the car show was invited as well and they did a side-by-side shooting of our two cars with one of Germanys most famous motorsports photographer in a container terminal. We had an amazing time and I'll post some pictures from the shooting below.

My Marauder and my friends Impala SS will appear in the January issue of the Youngtimer magazine which should be hitting stores by mid-December, I will be posting the full article and a translation here but if anyone is interested to receive an actual copy of the magazine, I would be happy to put a group order together and sent some magazine your way. This should mark the very first time in history for a Marauder ever to appear in a press release overseas in one of the biggest car magazines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland so thousands of car enthusiasts across Europe will be reading about it.

Thank you guys! As you can imagine I'm very exicited about this.

I'd be interested in a copy of the magazine. Not sure if it is available here.

It's only available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland because it's in German language. However I can order a batch from them and sent a copy out to everbody who is interested.

When I was in Europe backpacking around for a couple months in '85, there were very few American cars over there. West Berlin was very international so just about everything was represented there. Outside of that, not much American Iron was around.....and I went just about everywhere, from Ireland to Greece. Funny how things change.
Congrats on the spread!

Thank you so much for your interest. I will be posting scans of the article here when it's being released. They haven't decided yet if they will make it the cover story or not so finger crossed for that.

As far as actual copies go, I will be posting another thread in the lounge where you can order your copies and I will arrange a group order based on that. Each copy will come at a price of €4.50 EUR at regular retail plus €3.70 EUR international postage on top which will roughly convert to about $10.00 USD.

I still have about 50 Deutsche Marks left over from my tours in Germany. Do you take those ??

MGDriver

Oh really? Yes, I would actually, many banks do still accept Deutsche Marks here.

Down for two copies. Let me know where to send $$.

Thank you. Hope you make the cover (really, how could you not?).

BTW, I've been thinking, we need to get a big German, and European car companies lector contingent interested in our Marauders to drive up thier values!

Keep an eye out for the ordering thread to appear in the lounge, I can't do anything until the official release date which is still a few weeks away.

I honestly don't think I will make the cover somehow, this magazine is mainly focused on European cars and marketed towards the German enthusiasts so I don't see them putting an American car on the cover not to scare their targeted readers away.

Might help to send them links to the articles, "Top 10 scariest" and "Marauder too be a fixture Classic" ...
