Thinking about wrapping/re-covering the passenger side interior front airbag cover (not seat airbags) and was wondering whether that would affect deployment in the event of a crash. I am not sure how the airbag deploys.
I did a search on the internuts and there were mixed comments about this.
Thoughts or anyone have experience with this?

wasn't thinking about safety when I did it 5 years ago to my old marauder.

I bet the original covering is "weakened" is certain areas so the airbag will deploy properly. My wife's Charger has a cross you can plainly see in the vinyl dash cover on the passenger side.
IMHO........ I'd be afraid of not have the airbag deploy and cause more serious injuries in the event of a crash. Your insurance company might frown on that and deny coverage since you made the car "unsafe".

Similar to what i am thinking and agreed.
But am thinking it is how the airbag deploys. For cars with a crease, I definitely understand that.

It has to affect it to some extent. The air bags tear through the vinyl so another layer of material could do something to it. I know many interior shops will not repair our seat covers if they deploy an airbag as they will not take on the liability of the next deployment.
