Previously I asked for there to be a stereo folder/section.

What is the best economy minded speaker that will fit in stock holes for Marauders / CV's???

Please advise.

Need to buy some for Christmas

Can't beat Crutchfield on line, in my opinion.

This. Crutchfield will filter out the speakers that don't fit and then you search and read reviews. Sure, Amazon is cheaper but crutchfield gives a 60 day return policy. Their customer service is very knowledgeable. I buy all of my stuff from them....and have been buying from them for 15 years.

Get yourself some Power Base speakers. The best bang for buck speaker out there. Period.

I put in a set of Sony Xplod. Nothing great, definitely budget. Better than stock fo sho.
Left subwoofer alone. Works well with my Pioneer Navi stereo.

CRUTCHFIELD FOR THE WIN!

Called and spoke to Maverick, who walked me through many options. Loved his questions, "What kind of music? How old is the person driving the car most? More base oriented, or crisp and clear? They have a contact link-so they can send you photo's and specs of each item you are discussing--so you can see them while you are talking. Super cool and efficient.

Since this is for my 16 year old son who will probably blow these out anyway (I did it when I was young), he steered me toward a good head unit with blue tooth etc, two different sets of speakers (giving me the option), and all the connectors, keys, adaptors, and door tools etc... to do it myself--or take to someone else.

Then sent me the entire list via email link so I can buy alter after I review the units.

Thanks for the assist! Painless!

PS I am learning stereo's on my sons CV, before I do my Marauders.

Best speakers for a 16 yr old is no speakers at all, to much of a distraction. Best speakers for a geezer like me, no speakers at all. I like to listen to the exhaust note.

I get where you're coming from. I've been known to turn the stereo down just prior to the light turning green. I do that alot! :D

the best speakers are those that are matched well with the power output. if your head unit puts out 25 RMS watts at 4 ohms, then find speakers that accept 25 rms watts at 4 ohms. people get caught up in the peak numbers. I learned over the years and now save money by buying from wholesalers on ebay. sure there is more risk and hassle if they dont work but its worth the savings to me.

I've used them too. Cheap price and great sound

Upgrading speakers while only upgrading the head unit is crap

If your going to do anything add wiring, amps and tune it to your liking

Hell, toss in a factory head unit. Last thing you want is the driver staring at the radio trying to adjust it while going down the road

Factory radio, oem sub box sounds great for a 16 year old lol :)

JL-Audio are good and Kicker has a nice set up. Replacement bass kicker. And the 4 6×8 for the front door and the rear deck ones. Ebay has it cheap bro.

I'm prone to Memphis. They have the highs I need from hearing loss and respectable bass-----too many late night open header sessions at the drag strip and flying with my ears next to four giant airplane engines.

You just became my best friend ever. Powerbass has been a well kept secret for many, many years. Have ran components, coaxial's and subs for a long time. If you can get something above the "S" series for a decent price it is better than most of the mainstream stuff out there. The S-series is still decent. The secret they have is dropping the impedence on the speaker to get more output. Genius.

For the doors and rear deck I replaced OEM with kenwood KFC-C6895PS and for bass JL AUDIO 2-12s W0 with a mono 500w. Sounds great and was within reasonable price. Oh, and a nice Pioneer single din, nothing fancy.
