Hey all. Might pull the trigger on this 03 Blue Mm. Clean carfax 4 owners. 48k original miles. Havent seen it in person yet, mm is procharged. What questions should I ask? Never bought a procharged vehicle. There are only 3 mm for sale near me. 1 salvaged and 2 clean titles. All 03s black. Any input would be helpful. Thank you and Happy Holidays. Photos below.

Is it smog legal? Is it currently smogged in CA?

How many miles on the charger? Who installed it?

For my own curiosity, one DPB to another, where is this one located?

Yeah. I think it was smogged last year. I will be sure to ask him to see if he knews who built it and miles on the procharger. Car is in SF. Other thing that sucks is I have no garage for this beauty.

I thought I had seen they car before ... it I remember correctly there were issues with that car, and I want to say it was smog related. The price seems 'to good to be true' for the mileage and procharger combination.

New member just a nice little suggestions, do not post boosted blue's for everyone to see if you are truly interested, someone will snatch that **** up out from under you. Second point damn can they park stuff any closer to it? Third point, if you are a Marauder enthusiast or just plain car guy with a little mechanical know how a boosted blue for 12K is a steal if its clean. Good luck.

the Carfax says it passed emissions more than once, but knowing the tuner info is a big help and if seller has the sct xcal with it as well.

Not to steer you away from it, but just as info. better find a speed shop or local car shop familiar with DOHC fords and blowers if you do not know your self. Engine issues or running poorly will not be something the dealer can do anymore due to the procharger and tune..it has a whole different fuel/air map from factory and a dealer wont know squat. There are a ton of members here to offer help though.

What 8uwith6 said! A DBP is rare. One with that kind of mileage is few and far between. I paid almost that much for one bone stock with 60,000 miles several years ago. Just be careful about the seller. Especially one that will not be back? for a few weeks? Good luck.

Make sure that it's a true DBP. Check the door sticker.

Good luck!

I did't have a garage either, so I rented a storage unit, couldn't be happier.

Take it to BRG RACING in pacheco if you buy it, they will be able to get you smog ready.

Im assuming mine is the salvaged one youre talking about LOL. None the less it is in great condition, you'd never know it was salvaged to be honest.

I actually came across this car on the street real briefly one night about a year and half ago. He hit the gas, lit the tires up and was gone. He didnt speak much english and said it was his brothers who was out of town at the time. It was at night so I didnt get a real good look at it. Its been on cl off and on for a couple years now.

Pro chargers don't have the CARB EO# for the Marauder so will need to go to a state referee to get smogged or know someone.

We don't have smog in Kansas. Procharger is a mile down the street from my work. Wife wants a boosted blue. Hmmmm ;)

Tear out your laundry room area to make a 6th spot, then buy a blue :)

Having 2 blue here would be epic. Merry Christmas dawg

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE FEEDBACK AND ADVICE. I appreciate it. I went to check the DBP MM last Saturday. The MM is fast. But, it has long tube headers, and I think the cats were cut. The owner did not know who built the Procharger/who tuned it, or how many miles were on it. There was a little bit of oil on the seal of the procharger, oil was also across the k member. Interior was clean. ac did not blow either. Ca smog laws suck!!

Ditto what Brian said. Not sure how easy it is to work with a smog referee. I assume they are all hard ***es. Curious. Anyone have any experience?

I think its been discussed here before. But I don't think anyone is aware of a smog approved long tubes for the Marauder.

how carfax shows passing smog was either without the headers, cats cut and Procharger - or paid for

all that work to make the low mile, rare car illegal to drive in the state, plus the other issues seems like less than savvy guys had their hands on it.
I'd try to ge it cheap, rip that crap off and go back to stock. Sell the crap to offset the labor costs.
GL!

Its a low mile car and rare color, but got to pass smog. I think the ability to do that, and cost, is what matters. You could convert it to approved sc setup and sell the procharger and long tubes to offset the cost. My car has the DR non-IC setup for the last 50k miles with no trouble.

I will pick it up, store it, and drive it to you in the spring. Love road trips!

SF cars tend to be mighty dinged up. Parking space availability equivalent to Boston or New York.

There was some room left between cars in that photo... So Just regular parking.

Friend of mine in SC thunderbird used to gently push other cars forward when he needed more room, and when they left too moch room/space in front of their car.

I would never do it... Just say'en

There are 3 supercharged marauders for sale in CA right now. All of thier prices are dropping from when first posted, as most adult Californians (who aren't uber rich) know that jockeying past the smog issues is a short term win, if you win, and a long term loss if you fail.

CA law dictates (or at least recently used to) that the SELLER is responsible for the vehicle passing smog--not the buyer-- to keep sellers honest as again, the smog po-po are fierce.

One gentleman promised me smog certs for my lifetime...but wanted top dollar for the car too. Not worth the risk. Guy get hits by bus, smog guy sells his business, and every two years I have a major issue.

Really jones-ing for the carb approved Vortech unit though.
