so you bought all new fomoco stuff, but went with a jasper unit. why not just rebuild what you had? why would you need an entire new housing anyway? hundreds of 03-11 cv, gm axle housings in GA. car-part.com is your friend

I took it to Ford and that's what they offered me...they were going to rebuild it but said the Jasper would be better...man I wish I would have known prior to purchasing smh...now I know for future parts...thanks for the link!

i wouldnt buy jasper anything. you are in GA, you should get familiar with Mos speed shop in Dallas, GA. multiple marauders there monthly.. Marty is a good connection to have.

he is in the vendor section here. i live 680 miles away and my car has been there. and planning go again for more upgrades they could have rebuilt that rear end, and prolly cheaper than a jasper unit and be better stuff inside.

Yeah I checked out his FB page also so I will definitely be going by there for future upgrades...I just bought the car last year and this is the first major thing that I've done to it...I have more plans for it so Marty is my next stop for sure

I second the NO Jasper deal... not even on my lawnmower... Although, if you got a rear end, they are build here in Grand Rapids. We had a local rebuilder that was huge in our area and Jasper bought them out. This is where they get their assemblies from.

??? a buddy had over 100K on one of their motors before he traded his 2008 f150 in last month. he said he never had an issue.
probably a hit or miss thing, what isn't?

If you really want to sell this stuff, you should probably lower your prices.

It's brand new and unopened. I can't go too much lower than that. I paid 300 a piece for those axles.

unfortunately, reselling new parts generally means taking a loss. recouping some is better than none. chalk it up to a learning experience sorry to say. most of us have been there

So what do you guys suggest are reasonable prices to resell for? Those prices are negotiable, but just didn't think I would have to go down so much.

cant you return them? ..still confused why you bought all this stuf only to take it to the dealer.

Trying to work on returning them now...and trust me if I knew another route outside of taking it to the dealer I would have taken it somewhere else or definitely to the shop you referred me to but it was a spur of the moment thing...originally took it for a diagnosis and found out that was the problem then it all went from there...like I said before I know better now

did you buy from dealer? if parts were special order, may have to pay a restocking fee, but cheaper in long run, as selling it all may prove difficult. alot if us upgrade to 31 spline axles and carrier when doing rear end stuff.

AutoNation Ford here in Minnesota has the axles for $224.44 each and the clutch kit for $122.84. I'd lower the prices by 25% and maybe offer free shipping to see if that helps.
plee8625
01-04-2017, 02:26 PM
Yeah it's a 20% restocking fee and I'm trying to see if I can still return them outside of the 30 day window since their axle housing was on back order and the dealership had already stripped the rear end...didn't want to pay extra labor for them putting it back together so I just dealt with what they offered...still in process with the return though but wanted to see if I could sell before they got back to me

If the dealer suggested just going with the Jasper (which is really odd) then they shouldn't have any issue returning the parts.
Ford used to sell a master overhaul kit under a TSB with axles, clutches, even the fluid for like $385. I bought one years ago.

New Ford axles at www.tascaparts.com are $236.69 plus freight. This is just being posted as an example of why you will have difficulty selling the parts at the current prices.
Just noticed your last post and glad you and the dealer got it sorted.
