I've written and asked them to write about the Marauder a few times.

While sitting and reading my monthly, BAM there it was.

American Car Collector. January/February 2017

"A Panther Stalks the Market"

Please don't flame me on the article contents, I didn't write it.

See attached. I am going to write and see if I can get mew response letter in front of magazine.

Page 1 HERE, page 2 attached at farther down - as it was too big a file.

Looks like it costs $20.00 to $30.00 or more for a subscription.

Can scan and send to those who want it.

Just a description (mostly accurate) some comments that they were overpriced at first, and if Mercury had priced them right, they'd have sold more and the car could have stayed in production a few years more.

"The Marauder wasn't a big seller during its production run, but is poised to move up in value now."

Also gave us a happy ending...

"in retrospect, Mercury's last stand of a unique performance car promises to move up in value as production of normally aspirated V8's is becoming increasingly scarce. You heard it here first-- wait too long ands you will be saying "" Dang, I wish I bought one when they were reasonably priced.""

Nice! Looks like the Marauder is getting quite a bit of media attention lately.

Could you post the article here or send it to me? That would be great!

Back on Wednesday. Will scan and attach PDF here. I haven't been to my office yet and am at airport now.

I am also going to respond and write a comment /better article back, which I will hope they post. I've written articles before for the parent mag "Sports Car Market" and had made a few suggestions for them to write this Marauder article.

Was excited to see it. Sorry for the delay.

Another author who never did any research. The Marauder was effectively dead once Elena Ford took the reigns before production even started at Mercury, not its price. If you were buying on price you bought a CV,( I'm sure if they sold Ferrari's for 30K they'd sell like hotcakes). She did give the caveat that if it sold it could continue, but I doubt she gave any support to the program. We know the story.

Nice of the author to mention the largest MM club (ours)on the planet in his article, but give kudos to 2 clubs that have an infinitesimally microscopic MM following.

I know a few guys that have suffered from the Marauders failed attempt at a spark plug space launch.

Who got 51K for their car? Highest I ever saw was in the 40K+ and as far as I know it's still for sale.

I have to stop now, it's late, and the articles author is a bonehead.

Thanks for posting, that as a good read! Is there a printed copy available as well or is it an online magazine?

One thing I did notice, they said "but unique to the Marauder were leather seating" I'm pretty sure you could also get an LX Sport or Grand Marquis LS with leather seats, no?

You can get a digital or hard copy from the American Car Collector web site. Below is the link to the Jan/Feb issue. If you get to the home page you would select Store > Back Issues > and select the issue that you want. Each version (digital or Hardcopy) is $8.00. I think the Annual subscription is $29.95 for Hardcopy or $19.95 for Digital. I do not know how many issues are in the annual plan.

Yes, you can get leather seats in the LX Sport or GM LS. What the article should have said was the "Nudo" leather surfaces, contrasting stitching and embossed front seats with the Godshead logo were unique to the Marauder.

I had a 1992 Crown Vic Sport, with dual exhaust and other fancies. That model came with leather seating.

I didn't know they had a Sport in 1992, wouldn't that be called a Touring Sedan back then?
