CAKE!!!!!!!!!! My pedals have been in the UP position for probably half the life of the car. I bought the gear last year and it's been sitting here until cooler weather. The brake pedal requires 1 bolt and four nuts to remove, a brake light switch, and a twist-to-remove plunger switch. The hardest part was maneuvering it out from under the dash. Curless has an outstanding tutorial on this and the one step most people would likely forget is to MARK THE POSITION of the pedal before taking the transmission apart. Curless covered this because it is a step that would not occur to me.
This is a simple and economical repair that is silly not to do. It requires some knowledge but even if it's beyond your capability, we all have that one friend that will do anything for a case of beer. The quality of this new gear is top tier and the simplicity of the repair will be evident as soon as you get the pedal in your hand and out of the car.
