View Full Version : 20 inch Foose wheels.

I put on a set of 20 inch Foose wheels with Parreli Scorpion tires on my 04 DTR Mercury Marauder. Car runs great with them. But as soon as the boost comes up. When I nail it on the highway. It tends to get the traction control light. To turn on and off. I turn it off. Because it sucks when it is on. I know what everybody is going to say. But I i ain't widening my rear stock wheels. My car is low low miles. So the stock wherls are put away. And no there not for sale. I am going to get a set of drag radial for the rear. And see if I have too change the side way numbers on the tires. But this is a problem. I am going to deal with. Until I get her right.

without the 3-5% difference in tire size front to rear, traction control will always kick on. have to turn it off each time you start car or get proper front to rear tire size ratios

Thanks alot RubberCtyRauder. I am going to play switching up tire sizes. Also going to get the Foose wheels powder coated in gloss black. Or even gloss gold. Lmao but I really appreciate the info.

there are members with 20 inchers so it can work. what size is on them now? might only need to find 2 to get the ratio in range.

03Merc that is fine with me. If you don't like them. Plus these aren't cheap wheels. My factory wheels are mint. And ever the BFG G-FORCE Factory tires are brand new. If I find two stock wheels. Then I will send those to get widen. Or I might get a set of Weld RT skinny and fats.

03Merc I will not widen my stock wheels. There brand new. Even the factory BFG G-FORCE Tires are mint. So I got these 20 inch Foose wheels. You don't like them. That is fine with me.
If they are factory tires on Your factory wheels they are probably dry rotted. Never said I didn't like the wheels, just gave My opinion. No reason to get upset.

Those wheels are too "busy" for a Marauder. I also like the factory wheels as they will be hard to beat in the looks department. I guess the reason they make lots of different styles of wheels is that people like different things. Not for me.

Not a fan of the primed look centers or is that how they come and you send them out for the center color you want?
Personally I like the factory wheels best.

Count me in +4 or so by now.
BTW, is it just me or do those wheels make the car look bullet-ridden?

Lmao my stock tires are dry and rotted. 03Merc have you seen my stock tires. On my stock wheels. No right so that comment is just funny. Nuff said my car sleeps in a heated and air conditioned garage. Oh and my car is low miles too. So let me guess. It is rotted to as you said my stock tires are. Lmfao

tires do get dry rot over time. no matter where they are. tires outgas chemicals over the years, even car manufacturers in the owners manual say to change tires out after 6 years. i would change them if you decide to go back to stock tires. no sense in doing it if they are in storage, but at the time you want to run them for an extended period of time.

MOTOWN you are correct. 18 inch are too small for all Panthers. The stock wheels are great. That is why i put mine away. But my car feels better on the handling wise. With the CHE upper and lowers + watts link arms. Plus the front and rear Addco sway bars. Car feels more planted. On the curves. But as soon as the ADTR STAGE 2 Vortec V-3 boost comes on. If you don't turn of the traction control. If get king of funny. But with it off. It is a ton of fun.

If you want people who yes you to death become a corporate CEO. If the OP wasn't or was unwilling to accept criticism he shouldn't have posted to begin with. Like you said this OP is handling the negative to his choice of wheels well and in the end it's his car and he can put whatever wheels he wants on it. :)

It is such a strong divisive word and I was taught to use it sparingly. It seems like a word that has lost its base meaning. The word itself IMO is counter-productive as it puts the other side into reaction mode and things escalate into something that is unnecessary. Just my 'flower-power' thought for the day.

I'm with the group that believe factory wheels look the best, to me they make it a "Marauder". However if the faux bolts were removed I think they will look much better, but with that said they're among the nicest aftermarket wheels I've seen on a Marauder.

Maybe I missed where it got "down right nasty" in this thread. When I responded I actually made an attempt to be as nice as I can about something I didn't think looked anything but cheap and tasteless no matter the cost.
The over overwhelming idea of some websites that someone can't disagree with another's choice has gone too far. It's not counterproductive to state an dissenting opinion. This isn't North Korea.

The Satin black Foose nitrous or even better the Foose knuckle wheel is about the only wheels I would buy. I for one never cared for the stock wheels. Too small, too bland of a flat five spoke.
You mentioned painting them black. Curious why you didn't just buy the satin black version?
