Has anyone changed the knock sencer on the 2003?

Side question: if your original engine has 1 sensor but your new one has 2, is it a direct plug and play?

Maybe. Not sure if the PCM strategy is the same for 2004 vs. 2003 and whether you can just hook up the one and leave the other unconnected. (2003 PCM only has one input)

I think Zack said the knock sensors don't offer much protection......maybe he will chime in??:confused:

Mine are disabled in the tune I have for the blower!!:beer:

I have put a tank of 89 in and gone WOT just to test the knock sensors.
It will ping until it blows up.

Thanks lei372 I found it and found that the plug was not fully seated. I was able to pull on the wires and separate the plug. I assume when the engine was replaced with the 55K motor they did not fully seat the plug. I pushed it until it clicked, disconnected the battery put the puter in null drove up the Cajone Pass knock is gone.

I'm working on a motor now that the mounts for the sensors have been cut off. And there is no sensors or wires for them.
