Curious of the effects of removing front and rear cats? I understand removing the front cats will throw a cel, but anything else?
Oh, before anyone freaks out about emission testing, I live in Arkansas, they don't test.

I ran cat less for a year or so until I couldn't take the smell any longer..

Your better off with electric cut outs for that occasional loudness. I just happen to have a set in stock I'll sell you. [emoji6]

Did it cause any issues besides a check engine light?
Reason I'm asking is I had flowmaster super 10's installed, and I'd still quiet as a ***** cat at idle. Sounds more aggressive thru the rpms though.

If you were close to Springfield mo, I have a set of catless down pipes that would bolt right on. I tried them with my magnaflows and although they were probably the best sound ive had, they are way to loud. Funny i ran for a week and no smell was noticed. Id swap you if you wanted them. You are also welcome to try em on before you buy em!

Spark plug foulers in the bung then the o2's screwed into them and never a light. [emoji6]

Only issue running open headers was blue flames at night every time I clutched running down the highway. [emoji1303]

It's a 281 cubic inch motor, it's never gonna sound loud at idle, being stock. put some aero mufflers on..it will be loud and stupid obnoxious

I got rid of my cats & regret nothing. But I am running 18" Stainless Works turbo mufflers, so it's classy around town & screams at WOT. Funny how I haven't thrown a CEL yet. It's been a week & there aren't any active or pending codes.

I don't see where cubic inches matter, and I've already put mufflers on it.

Does your tune allow any CELs to light up?

Lol then explain how I could hear my riding lawn mower idle from a mile away when it's muffler rusted out.

different kind of motor, 2 cycle, 4 stroke whatever, believe whatever you want, go ahead and make your stock slow marauder sound all mean and nasty. and then e a d.

sorry if you dont understand physics, displacement and how 281 cubic inches in a mod motor with the long exhaust of a marauder effects the sound. and you must have mis-read e a d, there was no I involved. bhave a good time with your exhaust. options have been given, how you choose to use them is up to you.

Truth. I've ran open headers and it sounds pathetic compared to even a Chevy 350!

Displacement, plain and simple.

Things got a little off topic.
I was just curious if anyone had taken off all their cats, and if so if it cause any gremlins besides a check engine light.

Good question. I'll have to look into that. When Lidio tuned my car I know he turned off the rear O2s, so it stands to reason that he changed what throws a code for the front.

Mackdombles

The front or upstream oxygen sensors sniff the exhaust and determine if the air fuel ratio is within spec. The second set behind the cats or downstream oxygen sensors monitor if the cats are doing their job. My tune deleted the rears but the front remain unchanged. They have nothing to do with what comes after them.

Just asking because I had issues once with an old old tune loaded. I put the stock one back in and immediately it thru something like NINE codes... Now with the addition of bolt ons I had expected a hand full but even the misfire monitor was somehow turned off.

Aeros with all 4 cats, stock res tips, and an otherwise stock car is surprisingly very quite.

what are "aero" mufflers? Must be a regional thing?
I had flowmaster super 10's installed on it, loudest muffler they produce.

It may be THEIR loudest muffler but it's not the loudest muffler.

This is a Aero Turbine muffler

iDTTOa77efs

You can remove all four cats and have whatever muffler or no muffler at all, it will be loud BUT there is louder. I've had several different exhaust setups on my car since I've owned it, flowmasters with stock pipe, no muffler side pipes, flowmasters with rear cats removed, aero turbine mufflers with rear cats removed and now stock manifolds with 2.5" mandrel bent stainless from manifolds to tips and aero turbine mufflers. Each change increased the sound a good bit. Flowmasters super 10 is a chambered muffler, the aero turbine is a straight through design, that in itself allows for better cfm flow.

I had always had Flowmaster mufflers on prior vehicles but never again after getting the aeros.

I'd say the aero is more the evolutional offspring of the glass pack.
