Just a heads up!

Ford has a synthetic blend oil change, with Motorcraft oil and oil filter for ONLY $29.95 good through March.

I use Mobil 1 full Synthetic... thoughts?

That's a good price. I also use Mobil 1, but I'm sure the manual calls for Motorcraft. Don't think you can go wrong there.

I normally take mine to the dealer for the oil changes and they just change extra for the extra quart of oil. I used to take it to a quick lube place and the price just kept going up...

That is a good price. A 5 quart jug of Motorcraft Synthetic Blend at Walmart is about $18, plus one more quart is about $4 plus the FL820S oil filter is about $4. That's $26 to change it yourself.

Good price... synthetic or semi-synthetic, shouldn't be a problem.

GREAT!

That is why I was sharing. Even if I don't keep the oil in the motor for too long--this seems like a very inexpensive way to cycle / change out the oil. I am gonna hit the highway--out in the country--cruise at 3400 rpm for a few minutes.... then head to get the oil changed!

PS-- This sale only happened because I just bought 3 jugs of Mobile One and two oil filters at WalMart (and now it is less expensive to have it done at the Ford Dealer). Now I am stuck taking the Jugs back :(

ALSO NOTE: COSTCO has $10 off their already low prices of Mobile One FULL SYNTHETIC RIGHT NOW!

I take all of my cars (street and show) to the dealer who sponsors our car shows. I insist on full synthetic, and they charge what the local speedy-lube charges.

The advantage of the dealership... they give you the 5th change free! They also have special people on staff (car guys & gals) to handle the show cars, as many of these cars are heavily modified.

Mobil 1 oil 5W-20 and sometimes add 5w-30 summer Motorcraft oil filter always and forever!

Three of my Mustangs because of the larger oil pan, the oil coolers, and the superchargers, hold 8 quarts. The dealer charges me exactly what the local speedy lube place charge for that many quarts of Mobil 1. As I said earlier, the dealership assigns people who know how to work on these modified engines. If they didn't have such staff, they wouldn't see my cars. Even my daily driver have some mods on them. In my house, our motto is "What is Stock?"

NOPE! MOBILE 1 full synthetic. Now $26 for 6qt cases. Was $36 with $10 off taken at register = $26. Limit 5 (at a time -- you can always go back as many times as you want).

Also made appointments for CV and VadarMM for next Sat at dealer :).

Had son's CV HPP oil change appt at Ford yesterday. Both the service writer and the mechanic said they always use Mobil 1 synthetic in their own cars... Since I didn't have the Mobile 1 with me, and was already there for set appointment I had the CV's oil serviced with Motocraft, and asked if I could bring the Mobil 1 oil for the Marauders.

They said they would do the oil change for the labor only $12.00 + oil rec fee... on the subsequent Marauders. Can't beat that! Especially in California! BTW m local Jiffy Lube stopped allowing me to bring my own oil and filter in Jan 2017.

Ford Is really trying to capture more service business.

Ford Guys were friendly and helpful, and efficient. UNLIKE My Toyota service folks, who make getting the car serviced at Toyota extremely painful.

Motorcraft synth-blend is a very robust oil that has earned high regard on BITOG...there's no need to "change it out early". It's made by ConocoPhillips and is almost identical to their TropArtic, which is also highly-regarded. Motorcraft synth-blend is believed to have a higher percentage of synthetic than most other blends.

Of course, Motorcraft filters are an outstanding value-for-money.

Disclaimer: No, I don't work for Ford, Motorcraft, or ConocoPhillips...I don't own stock in them and I don't have any friends who work for them, either.

I have 225000 miles on the clock. At about 60K miles, it started making annoying follower noise occasionally and it would clatter sometimes for an entire oil change interval or longer. After trying many kinds of 5w20 oil, full synthetic, and so on, and pulling the valve covers multiple times trying to chase it down...I decided to experiment and see if a little zinc and viscosity would help free up my sticky follower. It did. I've been running DIESEL OIL in the engine ever since; and it's perfectly quiet and consistent.

Here's what I run: http://www.chevronlubricants.com/en_US/products/products/delo-400-le-synthetic-5w-30.html#.WShpcevythE

A buddy with a 2002 F150 also had follower noise and changed to this oil. The noise immediately stopped.

My change interval is 5K miles. Every 30K miles, I send in a sample for testing. They suggested that my oil change interval was too frequent. I stretched it to 10K miles once just to see if they'd have anything to say about it. Nope. No appreciable wear or contamination; and suggested that my oil change interval was sufficient. I went back to 5K miles. I also run 7qts of oil with a filter change, and at 5K miles I remove 6.5 qts on average; it burns about a half quart in 5K miles.

Dealership oil change specials usually only cover up to 5 quarts of oil.

"The Works" includes up to 5 quarts of Motorcraft Synthetic Blend per the Ford website, but my local dealer always put in 6 quarts and charges me whatever the current Works promotional price is!

BUMP

Mobil 1 POil sale at Costco 6 at cases $26.00 at register.

BUMP BUMP

Ford oil special will take off the cost for oil ($2.55 X 5) and basically do the oil change with correct Motorcraft filter for $19.49 IF you bring your own oil.

So Mobil 1 oil change only costed me $19.99 + $26.99!!! (and the $237 dollars I spent at Costco on other things).

Yes and it is $12.99!

But I felt bad as I was servicing 3 cars... So I paid the extra $3.00 for thier filter, and kept mine.

Seems to me for 29.99 for the Ford everything oil change (w/rebate coupon), a filter, 5 qts of semi-syn oil, rotate the tires (non-MM cars) and fill the fluids (usually just W/W fluid), have the tech visually look at the pads and whatever else they do, + getting credit in the Ford bucks program it's not really worth the running all over town.

Although I doubt any Ford dealer puts their highly-trained ASE mechanics on oil-change duty, it's STILL a way better choice than Jiffy Loob.

Agreed, but the rumble of the clean Marauder always gets the shop looking! And a walk around the car with the Tech, to show him there are no dings or scratches what-so-ever and then they take good care of us!

$29.95 is all I've ever paid for an oil & filter change at my local Ford Dealer, regardless of quantity of oil required... it's bulk oil, anyway so the cost to the dealer isn't much different between 5 and 6 quarts. The dealer even pours Motorcraft 10W-40 from jugs, and an FL-1 for my 1984 Mustang convertible... same price.
