Hey I noticed last summer. When I put the ADTR STAGE 2 Supercharger kit. My car would have cold AC. On the highway. But in the Bronx and NYC traffic. On 80 degree plus temp. My car would pass the middle of temp gauge. And will get over heated. If you don't shut off tge AC. In stop and go traffic. So my question is would a edelbrock short style water pump. And a 170 thermostat help me out. And stop that from happening this summer. I am also going to put a B&M trans cooler with a fan. That I already have. And a converter that I saving up for. And get it all done one shot deal. Also would a set of Steeda pullies help me out too. If I get them installed too. On the highway AC is great now. Keep in mind it is just stop and go traffic. Since the ADTR STAGE 2 intercooler sits in front of the radiator. Or should I put a fan on tge intercooler. To help out ? I would appreciate any info on all I am talking about. Thanks alot.

steeda underdrive pulleys is a no with a supercharger, less power to be made. because pulley turns slower. I believe a emp stewart water pump is better. some people have them here. I'm not an expert on them..but never heard of anyone using a edelbrock one.

RubberCtyRauder I saw a comment on a Steward waterpump. And guys were saying they work good. But a Edelbrock is the best. There is only a $20 bucks and change difference between them. So I can go either way. But I am going to order a pump now from Summit. Thanks again for the info I realky appreciate it. I am going with the Edelbrock. And a 170 thermostat. And see if it helps me. And no Steeda pullies for me then.

Get the thermostat from Reisch Performance. Pricey, but it's the best. For my money, I'll be installing a Stewart water pump when the time comes.

Also follow Reisch's recommendations for fan control in your tune.

as mentioned, tune needs changed for 170 stat...I'm not sure if we have long or short water pumps. not everything is a direct relation to the cobra motor..better double check applications with what is in the car

I would install a mark viii fan first. See if that cures it
Then a larger capacity radiator

The issue isn't the water pump in my opinion

Turbov6Bryan you are correct it is not the problem. But I want to change it. And see if it is a cure. Being the Edelbrock and Stewart water pumps are way better then stock pumps. But thanks alot with the info on the Mark 8 fan. I will look into it.

RubberCtyRauder 2001 to 2004 4.6 motors came with short water put shafts. 1996 to 2000 4.6 motors came with the long shaft water pumps

Water pump will not be a cure, not even if you bought one made of gold..

Diagnose and repair. Have you cleaned out between your radiator and condenser? Is ALL the air bled from your coolant system? Is your fan working on high and low speeds?

And why so many damn periods in all the wrong places? It is almost impossible to understand without reading it three times.

I like the Edelbrock water pump , but as mentioned its not your issue , a 170* stat will help , but it will not cure the issue , your going to need stronger dual fans , and a higher capacity radiator , been down this road before.
