Looks like I will be selling my extras separate from the car. I have a fully rebuilt, cleaned, and balanced Metal Matrix driveshaft I will be selling. Looking for input on a fair selling price:help:. I know new ones are all gone and used ones are nearly impossible to find now. I will get some photos up later today if needed.
Thanks

Yikes. I don't think it will go USPS even domestic due to length. I would ship with my FexEx business account and probably even then cost a ton overseas.

Usps max overall is 108 inches. That's length PLUS girth
So 4+4+4+4 is 16. Max length of box can only be 92 inches
Put it on eBay :)

According to my research, a new custom aluminum driveshaft can go anywhere from $500 to $1000. Out of my league. What you have there is kind of a unicorn horn. Hard to put a value on it.

I would say 500 is PLENTY fair. I have one, it works. I mean, your only option is to spend over $1000 on a custom driveshaft. And like others said, its rare. I absolutely would not take $100, $200, or $300 for mine.

I saw thru search $130-140 shipped from a few years ago, but not sure if rebuilt or as is.

There's no doubt that it may get crazy high if I put it on ebay but I'm looking to help out another Marauder enthusiast. We did agree on a fair price for the driveshaft. Thanks fellas:beer:

You can buy a dynotech for that kind of money. Look at it like this...... you can't even buy aftermarket floor mats that have "marauder" embossed on them, so thinking like you posted above, NIB floor mats are worth $1000+???
I say said item is worth what someone wants to pay for it. For me, $300 would be that number. If it's more, then I'd spend the 1k on a CF driveshaft. That's what the op asked, opinions, instead we got justification for ridiculous pricing...lol.

Or spend half that and get the same results. Look, guy above just said he sold one for $700 two years ago. So there you go. $500 is fair. OP asked what a fair price is, I made a guestimate, but looks like I was spot on :)

and there is history of them selling for $130 -$140, so $500 is high, $300 for a fresh rebuiltone seems reasonable

got any links? Id like to see this "history." Only history I was aware of was that they were rare, hard to find, and highly sought after. Yeah, of course they were sold if some one didnt know what they were worth and gave it away...Doesnt change what the actual value is. Idk what else you want, guy just said he sold his for $700. $500 is not high lol.

Because 2 years ago they were worth 300-400, I've seen the for more on eBay, must be worth 1k now

where are you getting this supporting data??? Unfortunately "alternative facts" dont always work out too well in the long run....
unless youre talking about those super rare "toyota marauder" floor mats. I heard those go for wellll over $2k.

Thanks everyone. As I mentioned we settled on a fair price. There is no doubt in my mind it would sell for much more than we agreed upon if sold on ebay. All I know is that we have 2 satisfied parties and I was able to help out a fellow Marauder owner. I have passed the Unicorn Horn...

search mmc driveshaft on Google, history of sales all over, at least 2 were here, others on cv.net. i have a dynotech, so ill never need a 16 year old shaft

Guys around here are still finding these all the time at the junkyards for like $60...
$500-$700 Vs a new Dynotech for $600?
That's laughable.

I've been wanting to pick one up since I've heard of them. What exactly do I look for when looking for one?

where are you legally running to worry of critical speed?, the car came with a aluminum shaft ,then why did they stop making them for police duty?. if i found one in jy, iwould grab it, would not spend 500 on a used mmc.
