Hey guys, I am in the middle of switching out rotors/pads and noticed several things that are worn out on the front passenger wheel.....have not gotten to the front driver wheel as one of the lug bolts has apparently stripped and is spinning....yay. Anyways I would normally look this up myself but since the car is up on jacks, could anyone take a look at this pick and let me know what these things are and if I need to replace? Looks like I'd need to leave rotor off to do so. Car only has 55k on it but yeah these things are all crumbling.

I think those are your tie rods and ball joints... Your front suspension.

I've done that kind of work on an 02 CV, wasn't easy... But I think it changes in 03 and up

Those are the sway bar end links. EASY
And upper ball joint. NOT EASY

Thanks for the quick responses - would the general recommendation be to replace all of these things? Wondering if I should leave the rotors off and start ordering parts :violin:

The upper ball joint is shot, I would buy new upper control arms to make your life easier. I would also buy factory style sway bar end links; they are non-greaseable and if you decide to buy a big brake kit they will not interfere.

Honestly. If you can't describe what parts they are, you shouldn't be replacing it
I just see bad things if you try doing the upper control arm ball joint
You will need a alignment afterwards

Those upper ball joints are replaceable. The rubber deteriorates from age then rapidly wears the joints due to the joint being unprotected and subjected to the elements. Take the control arms out and have a shop install the joints - you'll thank yourself by going with MOOG parts. They're also greasable. The end links are simple to install while you're reinstalling the parts and might as well install new shocks while you're in there and have it all apart.

I would suggest changing all the ball joints and tie rods, as every part has to come off
To replace the uppers. It's a good days wotk to do both sides if you've never done it.
