View Full Version : Rear shocks
Hello my fellow marauder brothers. I am in need of some help with my car. I need to replace the rear gas shocks. I know very little about High performance replacements parts. What should I get to replace my factory stock shocks? I would like to start fixing my marauder up alittle at a time for I have very little funds. My car is the only thing that has kept me going and not to give up on life. I just wish I had big bucks to do it right. I'm of need of a paint job very badly but I have no clue on where to go and how much. Help me out here my fellow marauderians. Thank you so very much. God how I love my car.

Monroe super duty are best value... KYB are a little more. Only advice is to buy the rubber mount kits at same time.
I love the KYB in the rear, but they are a little firm in front.

QA1 does not offer front shocks alone that work with the stock springs, they only have front coilovers which means removing front springs/shocks. Another coilover front is ridetech.
What is wrong with shocks currently in your Marauder? Does your car have the stock suspension? How about tires? Is this your daily driver? Keep it simple if money is a problem. If possible do some work yourself. Painting can get expensive and the return if you sell may not be a wise investment. Just an opinion. I love my Marauders! I always fix them no matter what. I also drive the piss out of them. Good luck. Make sure the car is safe.

I love the KYB gas adjusts heavy duty for my Panther. I like to drive aggressively around twisty hilly roads. Those shocks, combined with a stock CVPI suspension keep me planted.

Sachs used to make shocks for the Marauder as well. They did last year last I looked. Most likely compromable to OEM valving. Might be hard to find. Not sure if anyone has tried them as I don't see much if any talk about them here.

I've heard the Suncore compressor is of good quality, and I ass-ume their other RAS parts would be the same. I do not know if they offer an equivalent to the Marauder air spring, which is not the same rate as the ones in the MGM/CV. Arnott sells the limo air spring which is the same rate as the Marauder so I would start there.

I got the suncore kit in my car because the car had coil springs in it when I bought it, and i haven't had any issues with them. The only issue I have is I installed them in the winter and the O-ring didn't want to go in so I used the next thickness down and I'm pretty sure it leaks a little.
