View Full Version : Trashed a ricer

I was coming home from the store today and this ricer comes up behind me, does a quick lane change and goes flying by. I catch up with him and his buddy at the next light. (they never seem to figure out going fast just gets you to that next light that much sooner).
So, I'm sitting there and he throws a bag of fast food trash at his buddy and misses. The trash is sitting in the road. I looked at it for a little bit, then put the car in park, got out, picked it up and threw it back in his car. (I don't normally do these things but it was the second time this week I witnessed a ricer throw his fast-food trash on the road. Apparently, the car runs on rice and the driver runs on junk food)
He throws it back on the road, I pick it up and throw it back in his car. He gets out and says "you gotta problem". I said "yes, you are throwing trash on the road". About then the light turns green.
He takes off and I go on my way. About two blocks up the road his buddy turns then he slows down to about 20 MPH. So I slow and roll down the window and say "do you have a problem?" He says Yeah. I said "OK, the police station is two blocks down the road, lets go settle this". He says Yeah then turns on a side street. Chicken!! Last I knew the trash is where it belongs, in the ricer.

This story is fine and nice and all...

But, you are EXTREMELY lucky this guy didn't have a firearm.

People have died for less.

I have seen people throw out trash and cigarettes and have thought about doing the same thing but there are to many lunatics out there that would shoot you over nothing not worth my life.

I understand your frustration. That's just disgustingly childish and irresponsible. Maybe some things that I do can be described as "childish" also, but they're things that atleast I get some enjoyment and pleasure out of which makes them tempting. However throwing trash out on the street isn't something that's tempting because of any possible enjoyment. It's just plain being lazy and irresponsible period.

But unfortunately it's a problem w/our society and the way people in general view their responsibility as citizens. I said it before on here, and since it applies once again, then I'll say it again........

If you ask ten people what their rights as citizens are, most if not all of them can rattle off a list of what their rights are in a heartbeat w/out thinking too hard about it And that's fine, cuz rights are important. But if you ask those same ten people what their responsibilities as citizens are, they're hard pressed to name even one let alone a whole list of them.

And there lies the problem w/our society today. People all want rights, but fail to see or acknowledge the fact that w/rights comes responsibility. And because of people excercising their rights w/out regard to doing so responsibly, it becomes the biggest threat of our rights being taken away one by one.

I get just as aggrivated when I see people throwing a cigarette butt out of their car window. What's the problem? Is it so hard to use your ashtray? But now days, people throw entire bags of fastfood garbage right out on the main road w/out even thinking twice about it. It's rediculous. I think that people like that never got spanked when they were a child(another problem w/our society).

there is a difference between being a citizen and civillian...so says starship troopers...i think the difference is responsibilty but its been awhile since i've seen that movie.

uh...anyways.

i used to work at a supermarket and part of my job was to sweep outside.
thats where i learned my hate for people who use the whole world as thier personal ashtray.

no respect i tell ya!

HAHAHAHA!!!! ROFL LMAO!!!!

It's true that you could have encountered a bad scene here, but it IS funny as all hell. I would love to do this, especially since I am armed most of the time.

I remember getting my F350 pelted with several large snow/ice balls last winter. I stopped the truck and engaged in a short foot chase with the subject who turned out to be my age. I then held him down on the ground and force-fed him several chunks of snowy goodness. I doubt he ever threw snowballs at cars again, but I was very wrong for doing what I did.

Great story Rodster and thank you for helping to making America clean. It also really pisses me off when people throw their cigarette butts out of their car windows. I have never expericed anyone throwing their fast food trash onto the road though. Once again THANK YOU!!

I did a similar thing once - a kid in front of me flicked a butt out his window and it hit my windshield and lay on the wiper. (not in the MM - if it had been I don't know what I would have done) This was coming up to light which I knew was really long and I was already in a bad mood so I got out, picked it up, and handed it to him, saying "you lost this - it hit my car." He said "oh yeah, sorry."

I am sure he threw it back out the window the next chance he got, but I understand the feeling.

I ALMOST did this to a state trooper who did the same thing though it did not hit my car. I took the car number but never did call it in.

I am right up there in being fed up with people who think this world is their ashtray, garbage bin, or toilet. We need an armed force to subdue these people on the spot (taser?) and hit them with a $1000 fine per instance.

I live next to a neighbor whose kids leave pop cans, food wrappers, etc. in their yard, and sometimes the wind blows them into mine. I casually pick them up and leave them in their mailbox. I don't care if they see me.

Thanks,
-A

I like the stories...all of them. I have similar stories. Rodster I'm not going to condemn you for what you did. It was a stand up thing. Young kids these days have no respect for anything or anyone, and I feel it's getting worse by the day.

As for cigarettes...I remember this one occasion in college where I was sitting in line at a popular fast food joint on a saturday night very late. The car in front of me was loaded with drunk college kids out for late night food before they went home and passed out. Loud, obnoxious, screaming, swearing, making fun of the fast food window person...(not a good idea!) Well I was driving my mothers car that night, which was just a point A to point B car, but it still "wasn't mine to mess with". So I'm waiting there in line, and all of a sudden a cigarette was flicked up and out of their sun roof and landed right in the middle of my hood and sat there with burning ash, and a flame red butt all over the hood. Next...tremendous laughter comes from the car in front of me. I open the door, get out and stand up. All laughter stops immediately. I'm 6'3" 290lbs. I collect the ash, and wipe it off onto the ground, and pick up the still burning half smoked cigarette and walk it over to the door of the car full of kids. Everone in the car looks at me and 5h1t$ their pants. I proceed to put the remainder of the cigarette out right in the middle of the drivers side door (some sort of white BMW 5 series something or other...rich kids) and rub it in 'till it's a big black smear. Then I tell them to be more careful about who they laugh at next time...and I flicked the butt back in the drivers side window. Got back in my car, they got their food, I got mine...everyone went on their way. Lesson learned...(I hope)

I commend your actions and attitude Rodster. I would just add, that having done dozens of homicide jury trials, that lesser incidents than this have led to some fool shooting a gun. Of course, drugs were usually involved. And the drugs were usually Coors or Budweiser.

I admire what you did - but don't try that in LA!! Too many whackos with nothing to lose- life has little value to them anymore and yours would be snuffed for a lot less. That's just the way it is now. :depress:

However, if you get another MM driver to cover you then ..... :shot:

I fear the kid with the gun, therefore I do a completely different, yet uniquely stupid response to folks like that. It aggrivates my wife to no end, but atleast I am safe in my car!

I get right on their ass, and get on the PA. I do not claim to be an LEO, I just state the facts to the moron. "Driver...You ARE aware it's a $500 fine to litter in this area...I suggest you exit your vehicle and pick that shat up!"

90% of the time, if I'm really close, they don't know what to make of the car. With all the antennas, and being completely black, most folks are completely stupified.

I once told a kid he had no brake lights while stopped at a red light, and he tried to pull over! I had to actually tell him not too, I was just bringing a safety hazzard to his attention.

Was that kid driving a Marauder from Canada by any chance?

Are you some sort of brake light specialist or something? ;)

Actually, I nearly creamed the guy when he came to an abrupt stop. Just doing a favor w/o exiting the vehicle!
